Just do pads and fluid, braided lines if you're keen. Brembos are a pain to get wheels for, and by themselves won't drastically increase your braking without the upgrades I just mentioned. If you can overcome the braking on the track with those, then by all means go Brembo hunting.

Do it. If you are able to, and can get them cheap enough to warrant it, then all good. But yeah you do need to make sure your wheels will fit over the front can fit over the front calipers otherwise you'll be looking for new wheels as well.

If you have the STi braking setup (4 pot fronts, 2 pot rears and discs, then you'll be able to sell all that off for about $700 to recoup some of your costs. Also, what type of car is it? If it's a GDB then they will be a straight bolt on, but if it's a GC8, you'll need to make sure you have the R180 rear diff, otherwise you need to do more trickery with the handbrake setup.

I can't give you any justification for doing it, I'm just saying you should cos I have recently done it.

Actually there are some justifications... bigger discs so they don't heat up as quickly and cool quicker, bigger pads give bigger braking surface, and most importantly.. weight saving!! The brembos are really light for their size, compared to the smaller 4-pots.

i upgraded couple weeks ago just swapped the 4pots for brembos not worth it in my opinion only 4 da bling bling au,and i swear my cars even slower (if possible) cause they FARKIN heavy id say the discs alone weigh more then the whole 4pot setup (just talkin about the front by the way,id hate to think of the rears on top of that coz those are ginormous also)

at the end of the day what is so damn great about them really? with four pots and two pots I can hit the brakes and go into total lockup at 180kms If I really wanted too, hell I could probably do it with 2 pot fronts and single rears, how much braking 'power' does one need?

The problem is brake fade after doing hard track work. Brembos are over kill for a road car imo.

brembos arnt really that great. theres alot of other options availiable that are cheaper to replace parts, pads etc.. and are 10x better.

Bling factor, or because you scored a HELL of a deal. Surely no real point if you already have 4s and 2s.

I'm only doing it because 1) I scored brand new ones and 2) because I've got 265mm 1-pot front brakes, and my car came with rear drums. :-X

getting them cheap is not a good argument, because they will be more expensive over time ::)

And more un sprung weight will not feel nice.

Stock WRX brakes would be massive overkill for your slug. You are doing it for the bling factor......although im not sure how you get bling from sitting them in the garage. Ditto the 6 speed that you need. LOL fail.

Spoken line someone who's never managed to get any speed up. The current brakes only just held up at Megameet, because 4-5 laps was all I was doing.

But you can keep menstruating at me as much as you like, it won't change a thing aside from our post counts and you know it ;D

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
