BP facing 98 supply issues

this switch over thing happened here in auckland at botany bo connect

weirdest thing was - it was 98 - then it was 95 yellow pump for a week - then it was back to 98 blue pump - last time i looked it was half the pumps yellow and half blue

hmmm that instantly stopped me using BP fuel and switched to mobil as the last time i filled up at that BP (they were all blue pumps) after 1 track day i could see detonation on my spark plugs

switched to mobil and never had a problem - mixing the fuels in the tanks maybe ? not sure but definatly put me off BP after using it religiously since my first turbo car

Tell Mobil to bring 98 to the South Island when you next top up

no purple pumps down there at all? alot of mobil sinergy 8000 (however u spell it) up here

they reckon on the pump that its a minimum of 97.5 octane - i would say its true have had no detonation on it where as the BP fuel would swing - but i think they be mixing the tanks where i was filling up

Never heard of 8000 :-P Odd thing is that BP told me that their 98 is 98, no less or higher

Never heard of 8000 :-P Odd thing is that BP told me that their 98 is 98, no less or higher

ive red up a few times that its been tested as low as 94 - but i mean its just hear say i dont know whats facts or not

pretty sure if u did some sort of petition thing and had enough intrest they would be keen as they would be stealing customers off bp ? haha

Just checked it out, your right, site is owned and operated by BP, which is crazy as BP Connect Porirua is also owned and operated by BP

Its gone in Levin. Run low boost and 95 untill I go somewhere that is still sellin it

98 gone from Ngongotaha end of Rotorua. Now only available in Fenton st at the taupo end of town. Mobil looking good for me. I buy over $2000 of it a month too ;D

have to be careful with mobil 98 south of taupo, a lot of it is E10

no, theres at least one mobil in palmy (rangatikei st, opposite side to bp) that does real 98, but mobil in bulls is E10... check the pumps before you fill
