Invercargill - Best garage for Subaru's

Hey Team,

Looking for the best place to take my B4. Need a clutch replacement - plan on buying parts myself.

I don't have the room or garage (or experience) to do the repair myself - although I'd love to.

The clutch is hydraulic (push type?) so I've been told it has Dual Mass Flywheel. Research tells me these can't be machined.

Thinking of going for the DMF to SMF conversion like a lot of others have done. Not rich enough to buy new clutch kit and DMF.

Any recommendations down south in Invercargill? Or anyone keen to do it for cash moneys???

Cheers.

Wish I could help you mate - I'm still looking for a mechanic I trust after MAK Automotive shut down.

Had a falling out with one (whom I shan't name here) over some incompetence after many years of custom.

Only one I could say would be Autotec - the guys there are friendly and will actually take what you say on-board (a little expensive though).

When I lived there I always went to K&D Automotive. They know their stuff, there are always performance vehicles being worked on there

which means a lot of others go there too. The work they did for me was great, very honest and always confirmed prices with me before commencing work.

(I was student, couldn't afford more than what I was quoted). Would highly recommend them.

Yeah I went there for my last WOF. Can't recommend though as it was only an in and out warrant and barely spoke a word to anyone haha.

Go see old mate Dave at Waikiwi Motors, he has many years of experience under his belt and will more than willing to show you a thing or two about doing the job yourself. Also more than happy to allow you to supply your own parts.

K&D are probally one of the best in town with performance cars and good value the other is waverley motors both very helpfull and good value, on a side note ive been going to autoplex for years for wofs and are now under new ownership they have really sharpened up, Daniel is doing a great job there but a little pricey and very limited subie experience
