Is it a 08 spec r or just a sti

Hi all just wondering if some one can help me out I've brought a 2008 sti and just wondering how to tell of it's a spec r or not it has the spec r Seats and rims just wondering if theres any other way to tell.

Applied code on the Shock tower will tell all!

Its has one but how will I know it's a spec r?

What else is there it's just trim level, so seats and rims. Likely has audio and cruise control as well.

heh yeha every Subaru has an ID tag : the Applied code Numbers are what proves all

Just a update I think its cause my is not a jdm sti as it has a 2.5 not the 2 but the Id tag doesnt actually have an applied code just a vin

Are you looking at the correct plate? There should be quite a few different sets of numbers on the plate.

If it's an import there will be a NZTA plate on the opposite tower that has just a VIN number

Are the plates in different location in newer cars? I only have late 90's Subaru experiance

The cars nz new no vin on other tower it's a Fuji heavy industry's tag so I'm pretty sure its the one your both talking about I'll try to upload a pic if your really interested to see it but the original build sheet indicated it's a spec r

yep that's the one, every Subaru has that regardless of origin

 

has engine code & your applied model code (build code) which if you didn't have the Build sheet can tell you the same basic info

After some googleing it turns out new subarus the applied codes are on the front passenger door

I'd think that would only be the 2018+ ones. Since Fuji Heavy Industries is now Subaru Corporation.

As Joker said, it'll be on the spec plate. Usually in the engine bay, or door jam. And for newer Nissan's, under the seat.

My (rip) NZ new BR9 had one on B pillar, passenger side of I remember correctly. 2010 or 2011 she was.

I actually ment the B pillar not the actual door itself it's where mine is and it's a 08 joker was saying the earlier ones are in the engine bay
