Have just acquired 'Edna' ❤️ a 2011 6spd STi sedan. She's beautiful. Standard AF apart from exhaust, bov and alloy radiator. But insurance is a pain in the ass. Everything we have is currently through tower/trademe (house, contents, daughters car and the family suv) so just chucked a policy on it yesterday to drive it home. The plate didn't come up in their system. Then when manually entered details the sub model options don't match (engine size). Now they tell me they have to put it down as a 2012 to get the model right 😬 also won't do agreed value of more than $21k but also after telling me they do market value policies they then reaffirmed their cover is agreed value. Have looked for quotes elsewhere. Nac pay market value but want a $9k theft excess! Star weren't interested in insuring it (not classic or moddes enough maybe?) Did a market scan on quashed and all the sum insured amounts are pathetic. Any suggestions where to go??

How many k’s on the body? 21k value is a joke for a sedan for sure.

Is it a daily driver? I'm with classic cover but that's got a soft limit on how many K’s you do a year. Can't remember the exact wording but they do an agreed value that can be over market value by a certain amount but if you want higher they just need an independent valuation done to prove any extra value

@Andy_Mac 134k on it. It's a daily driver, but daily is a STRETCH. School run 2-5 times a fortnight and the office once or twice (lots of wfh and family suv is covered by work so used for everything else).. I thought I saw that classic cover have an age of vehicle restriction but I'll take another look.

@Gripless I think I was with NAC donkeys ago when a drunk smashed my old STi parked on the road outside a mates, they paid out well and bought it back for parts, but 9k excess for theft? 😂 Maybe they'd be worth it if it wasn't standard AF. Plate is on carjam but only shows as impreza not STi, could that be the issue?

Kinda an age thing but they do insure other vehicles that don't quite fit the standard daily driver criteria.

Mines a 2010 but heavily modified and does barely 4kkm a year

You might want to phone tower and ask them if your car is covered. Tell them the mods, exhaust and bov, pretend to be a prospective customer.

It pays to find out before you have to make a claim, touch wood, than when you do and realise you aren’t entitled to be paid out.

Tower is pretty good, but they’ve toughened up the criteria in the past few years, as have AA. Im with AA and being a larger insurer with a solid credit rating and high volume, there’s less finding ways to not pay out a claim, and more getting claims sorted.

Plus you find out who is a good insurer when you need them - almost 10 years ago my MR2 got broken into, AA took care of the tow, repair, and were really efficient. AA I believe were also one of the few if not the only insurer that sent people on the ground in Christchurch after the earthquakes where other insurers stuck their heads in the sand.

I have mine with Classic Cover, they've always been good but I've only ever claimed a windscreen.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
