This might be useful and I figured best to get it online before I go and accidentally wipe it https://ufile.io/9547e <-- ECU definition for ECUflash. I've forgotten the ins and outs of it, but you need to replace what it tries to open the legacy stock rom with, with this https://ufile.io/caf54 <-- The last tune I loaded onto my wagon, some emphasis on off-throttle pops and bangs with this one. It's pretty aggressive and my car had FMIC, 2.5" downpipes and silicone intake pipe - your mileage may vary as those things do make a marked difference to how much it wants to grenade. That said - it still runs less timing on boost than the stock rom does https://ufile.io/90b75 <-- A pretty safe tune for 95% of the cars out there, loading this on will result in the VOD being effectively gone, ping gone on gull or BP 98, and vastly improved mileage. I think it's pretty safe on 95 as well from memory but please see above I've got a dozen other variations if anyone wants them, still have stock flashes off auto and manual GTB's and I think I have an S204 (202? whatever the sti B4 is) rom renamed something stupid which was not really any great improvement other than more revs and boost bro I sold reflashed ECU's to a few in various states of modification who all came back with glowing feedback, it is a legit "best bang for the buck" thing you can do to these cars Also I'm not dead, this is just the first time I've been on my car-S*** laptop for several months (ha) - currently driving a POS cedia turbo while saving for something worthwhile4 points

vented rotors - where the internal is not solid - are good ! they dissipate heat much better than a solid rotor. they will be factory fitted on your legacy. slotted rotors - which have slots cut into the surface - are of dubious benefit. as rotors are an expendable, there really is no need to buy all the flash brand name stuff. pop into your local repco or bnt and get some twr (or other reputable brand) oem replacements. add good pads and good fluid and you should have enough stopping power for road driving.2 points

Best thing you can do is put your car through a wof before you leave home, the standard for going on track is "A car up to WOF standard" thats not to say theyre going to put your vehicle through the same testing as VTNZ, but you get the idea... I always did the following on a car before i put it on track... Checked tyre pressure, checked alignment changed coolant, and replaced any old hoses. changed oil and filter (dont forget sump plug seal/washer) changed fuel filter changed air filter changed brake fluid, checked pads and rotors. checked all wheel nuts removed anything loose or rattling removed sub and spare wheel (optional unless not fastened securely) And i always took a full tool kit and any spares i had floating around. always had a new pack of cable ties, and a few hose clamps on hand. it was pretty common back then to arrive with a full fuel tank and bring 1 or 2 20L containers of fuel as well... depending on how much tracktime you were expecting to have.2 points

Yeah, I got a quote for a dry sump, and decided that a baffled sump is far more prudent for the wallet in the short term! I'm keen to run "Hamster Downs" with you guys once my car gets out onto the road.1 point

Oh, sure ! I thought that you were talking about slotted rotors, my bad. Agreed with newsuba, the benefit is dubious or maybe there is one for very specific applications. Totally forgot that non vented rotors even existed, all my last cars had vented rotors1 point

This was the final result. It's ugly, but it does the job. ( Like my high school girlfriend ) Lucky it can't be seen from the top with the heat shield and intercooler in the way.1 point

Unless I'm 100% sure that it can be done in Auckland, I would rather pay for disposal than taking the risk. Poor mother nature if the sewerage systems are not designed for that1 point
-
I've been told when I looked into it, to pour it down the toilet, some town/city sewerage systems are designed to handle it.1 point

Could be an idea. I might ask Subtech what they do with used coolant and see what they come up with.1 point

Quite possibly. In fact I am sure I have seen it by One Tree Hill It was a pre-facelift1 point

so is the track day going to be run by Playday like a playday? Passengers allowed (in fully caged car, seat, harness blah blah??) Considering coming down and doing some testing/take some people for a ride/chase @Fastfour assuming the cars still running after the weekend before at Taupo1 point

You talkin bowt my lawn or my lawn bruh? @evowrxwifey does the lawn/garden round here.1 point

If it wasn't done recently, I would also : change transmission oil/fluid change differentials oil (both front and rear if you have an auto) bonus : change the steering assist fluid as the system is known to fail/leak easily on some subarus When I buy a used car with no or poor service history I change all the fluids even if I don't track it ... you never know how old they are.1 point

someone in club whose good at videos and stuff should make a shoutout video at megameet chuck it up on social medias, tag them on Youtube/FB. wont guarantee them coming but guaranteed to get their attention. this is NZs biggest subaru car club so collectively our opinion must mean something rtight1 point

Or invest in a baffled sump if you're running very sticky tyres... the killer is the long sweeping corners where the oil pick up gets starved otherwise just drive slow1 point

Will definitely see what state can do. They paid out sum insured within days in my claim and we're sweet with the sum insured on the new wagon. I'm guessing that technically you would need to advise them on any thing that's not stock from factory. What about ecu changes or things that are not so obvious.1 point
