They're legal if they're captive at full droop. Legal doesn't mean they're not potentially lethal. If you f$&@k up your car's handling and wrap yourself around a pole, legal or otherwise you're still dead. Cut ties are a bad idea, pure and simple, unless you're a suspension engineer with a suspension engineer's workshop.

Either you don't know the difference between legal and lethal, or else your priorities differ from people with a bit more common sense. Tell me, if you read in the Herald tomorrow that someone from ClubSub was found dead around a tree because their car left the road on cutties would you feel bad? Guilty? Remorseful? Personally, I'm guessing you wouldn't go back and edit your post above....

na cos like i said there is a way to do cut springs right...my rear are cut with shortened shocks which i shortened myself....its quite low...rides real nice...not stiff..have lowering springs in the front

people are sooo anal over cut springs..... and fair enough if u cut them so much they fall out thats stupid...if not cut much the spring rate doesnt go much higher and they handle fine....

its my opinion..urs is oviously different cos in my opinion lowering springs are a waste of money

each to their own yea

Hah. You don't have to be a scientist to modify a set of springs successfully. You just have to know what you are doing. There is some basic maths involved. There is no need for knee jerk scare mongering over modified springs. Consider the amount of people who cut holes in their cars for front mount piping. Are they accomplished chassis engineers? Do they have a comprehensive understanding of the crumple zones designed into the body?

"Modify with care" applies to everything.

If you want to do it once, do it right, get some springs custom wound after you have corner weighted your car, properly modelled your suspension geometry, considered the most significant usage, and calculated the optimum rate ... O_o

I think the moral here is:

1. Noone here has a photo of a BC5 with just low springs.

2. If you're going to lower your ride, it's safest to get professional lowering springs, however, you can cut your springs, but that's something most people hear wouldn't recommend as the cons outweigh the benefits. But it's their decision what they want to do.

That is the plan ;) & as for the towbar it's in the woodshed anyone want it - i dont need it.

paint it black shannon & the strips too they suit the white cars

Can it be re painted black? if you come up for the pizza night I will get you to have a look at them as I have a feeling they might be too far gone :'( :'(

loving the pics

in reply to the cut springs, there was a young fella driving an old evo 2 on cut springs,he had 6 people in the car(overloaded) an decided to flee the police(honestly your piece of shit evo ain't gona out run a cop car wtf?!?!) he hit a bend in the center of town at 100km ran a red light slid through 4 lanes smashed into a pole outside denny's an killed himself an his best mate

cut springs are only for looks an that is a poor example of how dangerous they could be in the wrong hands

they aren't the best idea in a subaru in my opinion as subarus are made for cornering an its really gona affect the performance in most cases...

ramble over lol

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
