I use Motul also. Al at Macbilt sells it for $34 a litre.

For you it's $43 a litre

So Redline is cheaper $28+gst per US quart (946ml bottle). Standard trade price at BNT. I'm assuming Motul is also a synthetic oil - so either should do the same job. Most other oils on the market are only semi-synthetic..

Elf also do a synthetic gearbox oil, but it's expensive - even the guys at Extreme said to use Redline.

Note a 5mt and 6mt are different as the 6mt has an internal pump and if you read up on redline it says "not for use with pump applications"

True, that's prob why the guys at Extreme sold me the 75W/90, instead of the 80W/90.

I used both Redline and Motul.

Redline is great, for about 1-1.5 years. As told by many other racers it ends up polishing the syncro cones therefore syncros cant grip well enough, therefore not being able to select gears very good.

I since changed to motul and after 1 year there have been no more syncro issues.

Normally Motul is around the $43 a liter for the gear FF

Why on your Mazda forum link do you say $53.00 a litre ? (Motul FF LSD Type II 1L $53.00) Or is that a different kind ?

If you had said 2nd or 3rd the I\'d be leaning towards a gearbox out but 4th, I\'m sure is fixable
