Can this really be done

Ok I had this idea at work today, there was someone here who managed to recover there car with gps technology and a immobilizer set to activate the horn continuously. If such can be done, would it be possible to remote activate some air jacks?

I was thinking if you noticed your vehicle was moving on your pc or txt alert or whatever; and you activated your remote immobilizer, if it deployed your air jacks (with some form of base to slide to a quick stop and not just lock into the ground) and locked in, preventing the car from moving and possibly stranding it in the middle of the road, and maybe set the horn off for good measure.

I'm no engineer but I would think activating Air jacks while moving would damage airjacks and mounts? Possibly doing massive damage to the structure of the car depending how Jacks are mounted?

Or did you mean doing it when the car is stationary?

Maybe, but your car is probably being thrashed anyway as it would have been stolen, unless you welded some sort of ski at the bottom

I was just about to post this! If it's been stolen, just message the car to shut off, then when the GPS reports it's stopped moving, BAM go the airjacks.

Agreed but not much point if jacks either snap or bend.

If you could make it work you could wire it to a speed sensor. But surely its cost prohibitive not to mention the weight and cost of an airjack system. You could buy an awesome GPS system for that money.

Not if you have the ones that you need to jack up even further to take them off the safety like axel stand mechanism

not even an immobile car is immobile to a determined thief with time on his hands....

could be on its stands for a few hrs before you can get to it/activate it

You just put an additional fuel kill in there... and a fogger in the interior, and a loud-ass siren. Maybe that announces the car is stolen as.

Skis would probably work, the best way would probably be belt jacks, that are activated by not pressing a button on your car when it starts, like that button on the steering column shroud, rewire it to deactivate the jacks lowering and are powered by the driveshaft and then reach a certain point and then stop, and puzzlenuts people, they save your mags, make each nut a puzzlenut on each mag, and keep the puzzlers in a secret compartment that's. Behind the stereo or whatever, if y

ou're putting jacks in, a secret compartment for the puzzlers wouldn't hurt.

And ikf the buttons not pressed, it activates the jacks, they get to a point and then disengage, so you need to manually re-activate it.

Or, a releas of liquid nitrogen into the car, which also activates a speaker that says freeze, and simultaneously activates all brakes to maximum capacity, and disengages the throttle

Why not just kill the power to the ECU. All that takes is a relay and not thousands of dollars worth of crap that you hope never has to be used.........

Actual, just something that you have to press to stop the cars high beams and hazards off, timered, obviously.
