So I need to replace a couple of my RE001's, fronts have chewed a nasty mess out of inside shoulder. Been a while since I needed new tyres, so thought I'd see what's popular on here at the moment.

RE002 are probably the obvious choice to replace RE001, how do they compare? Also considering something a bit harder wearing, maybe Falken 912 - what else should I consider?

For reference I've been pretty happy with the performance of the 001s, found them much better than T1R and GSD3 I had before them especially for sidewall strength etc and gravel performance being a factor as well. They don't last that long though (I probably get ~20k from them) so thinking about harder wearing options too, feel is more important than absolute grip.

If you hunt around you might find some NOS RE001 in your size ?

I wasn't totally convinced by the new RE002 so went to the Nitto NT05 for my Dub

A great tyre (at least in the dry, haven't had them out in the wet yet) but maybe too extreme for your purposes.

The more sensible models appear to be good value too.

Otherwise the Falken 912 is good (but a lower performer than RE001/002) and on special at Hyper in selected sizes.

not many size options in the NT05, the NT01 Semi slicks have more option though, I've been told they're made in the same factory as Toyo's

Yes, Nitto is a subsidiary of Toyo.

And yes, not many Subaru friendly sizes for the NT05.

More choice with NT555 and Invo.

What size is GravelBen wanting ?

Falken 912 probably has softer sidewalls than the T1-R.

Ah should have mentioned that! 215/45R17 :)

And not interested in semi-slicks in case anyone is wanting to suggest those, I'm after an all-round road tyre. RE002 are sounding the best option so far unless I find some old stock RE001 going cheap.

RE002 will live longer and has slightly harder side walls than RE001, according to the guy at Firestone who replaced my mate's tires.

I Have Nitto NT555's on my leggy, i've said it before & ill say it again, i am very impressed with them, hold pressure remarkably well, have not experienced any sidewall collapse and grip is awesome in wet & dry

mine are also 215/45R17 and cost $195 + gst per corner from Mag & Turbo 6 & a half months ago, ive clocked up at least 10k on them and am sitting at 6mm all round at my wof last week

I have Toyo T1 Sports on my V7, I like them... very good wet grip particularly but no slouch in the dry either.

Whats your budget? For something really outstanding I had some of the new Goodyear Asymmetric 2's (German made) on my last car and were hands down some of the best tyres I've had esp in the wet is when they really shone out and have one of the highest reviews from www.tyrereviews.co.uk (94%).....BUT lil more pricey but will last you 40K if you aren't drifting in them

Had Re001's and liked them changed to re002's a few months back and they are better than the 001's, seem to be abit quieter and feel like they are a little more planted when pushed.

Pretty keen to try out some RE002s when I need new tyres for the scooby - worked for Firestone for some time and always had 050As on the front and 001s on the rear on the Skyline but a slightly harder compound with tighter sidewalls would be amazing so definitely going to check em out.

So far sompared to RE001 I'd say quieter, a bit more consistent and sticky on seal wet/dry but maybe not quite as much feel on wet seal, not as much bite on gravel but still ok.

Best tyres I have had have been the potenza RE070? That come stock on v7 sti

I got over them pretty quickly for an everyday street tyre. They're twitchy, hard and loud. But damn do they go around corners!

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
