we never got the 2.2 turbo, was a us thing i believe and they were fairly crap, no ic etc

were a soch turbo, 122kw so nothing exciting at all

New Zealand new Legacys RS's GT's of the early 90's were 2.2 NA, this was before the imports started arriving in great numbers

Ages ago a 320 was a 2.0 4 or 6cyl, 328 was a 2.8 straight 6.

Now in the latest F30 3-series, the 316, 318, 320 and 328 are all 2.0 fours !

WTF happened to solid German pedantry ???

In MB's case their bad maths is a homage to the classic 6.3 v8 of the 60s, 70s.

Most new 63 AMG are now 5.5L

ya the new CL, E, CLS, S, SL, ML 63 AMG they all use the 5.5L TT (or as the german say, Bi-Turbo)

afaik only the C63 AMG still uses the 6.2L NA, oh and the SLS AMG

Also, 65AMG uses 6L Bi-Turbo.

Tommy Kaira 2.2 edition is a a hybrid EJ20 with the 2.5 crankshaft, where as the 2.2 NA is EJ22 (96mm bore and 75mm stroke)
