How to make it RWD..

Sup peps,Got me a 96 wrx wagon and Wanna make it RWD ;D,Ive heard a couple ways,But nothing concrete.

remove front axles

you now have rwd

Unless it\'s a BRZ, I wonder how compatible the BRZ\'s RWD gearbox is with any other subaru?

or if you want one have a converted gearbox that allows you to leave the front shafts in avoiding cert in a way. should still have cert but much less ovious

dont do it unless youre prepared to replace things. trust me. welding the center diff is the hardest part. if you continue with the conversion make sure you replace the rear trailing arm bushes with either solid bushes, replace whole trailing arms that already have solid bushes or rose jointed trailing arms. good rear shocks or adjusties will help with axel tramp too

My write up is all that is needed you do that and you will be a/ RWD b/ still running your front shafts. BUT as you have been told more than once in this thread DONT DO IT, it is a very very good way for you to end up either dead or with a very very dead car, Subarus ( upto the BRZ) were not designed to be RWD, the rear end is not strong enough to take the full brunt of the engine, at best they were designed for about 60%, You can get a good reliable RWD setup ( look at PEDO) but expect to pay about 10k

Yup that delivers drive to the front diff, SO you keep everything as it is, front diff,front axles, so you are maybe a wee bit more legal, ( well not really as it has still be changed from "factory" )

As mentioned, great way to break shit all day long, a bog standard WRX is maybe 160kw atw, it\'s designed around having a nice split so you see maybe 40kw/axle rather than the 80kw/axle you\'ll feed it if you RWD it.

If you want to do skids, buy a Nissan.
