Im just wondering what you guys paid roughly for your adjusties.

Its a toss up between new struts and king springs LOW (Springs alone $240) or second hand coil overs off yahoo auctions (around $600 total + cert cost)

My current billie struts and springs knock a fair but when going over speed bumps slow and up driveways etc

Second hand struts often need rebuilding... theres a reason why they often appear on trademe. In my honest opinion, i'd get new bc golds or similar, total cost including install and cert should be around the 2k mark. Bearing in mind, once certed you cant change wheel size or width, seats, a lot of engine mods etc...

Shortened struts with lowered springs get my vote. Im running bc golds and the hassle of secondhand adjusties is quite a hassle and expense.

Second hand struts are a very hit and miss affair, I've had about a 50/50 success rate of good sets to bad. Sometimes can be rebuilt, sometimes not. If it's from strongs or submarine spares etc you at least have some comeback if they're defective out of the box unlike private sellers

Certing is around $450-600 but I think there's some big changes happening?

Mate of mine bought tein adjustable from trade me supposed to be good condition and they were not worth fixing, pissed away 400 bucks. cert is 500 bucks well mine have been. Price depends on how much you get certed I think

I was ringing around last week for a quote on a cert for coilovers.

$540 was best price, have to provide alignment printout etc. Prices ranged from $540 to $600 depending who/where you went.

wtf $679, maybe if you CBF doing any of the legwork yourself.

Considering a wheel alignment printout (you don't have to get a wheel alignment, all you have to do is show your camber is acceptable) = box of beers

Don't know about this "you must take it for a WoF to get a cert" business, seeing as you'll fail a WoF with uncerted mods.

Last 2 cars I've had certed immediately failed their WoFs on different stuff. Cert guy doesn't give a flying **** if you have a frayed seatbelt when he is certing your coilovers.

totally agree, just dictating what their service included for that price.

Personally having done 3 certs through Neil fraser on my other car i've never had to show alignment or do the wof thing.

Where as when i rang Alexander Gee (another auckland Cert guy) last week he mentioned something about needing a wof check before coming in for the cert.

My alignments cost a box each time give or take including fudged printout. I also had to get a wof but that didnt cost a cent thro mates workshop he just wrote the slip failing on said items and passed it when cert plate came thro. He only checked items that were specified by me so if I didnt tell him I had rear brake adaptors or something it wouldve been picked up at the warrant after.

Some of them like to see a failed WoF sheet before you get a cert. I don't know why, really. Others don't care.

The wheel alignment thing is because of too many retarded dorifto-boso-whatever ****boxes coming through for certs with obsurd amounts of camber, clearly unsafe/pointless but they couldn't actually fail them. Now camber has to be within a certain amount (1 degree?) of factory maximum unless you have an authority card so they require a printout to say that it is all present and correct.

Washers fix the alignment issue. He looked at mine and said it was safe as a church and Im 2.5f 2.0r iirc but sheet puts me within legal limits and thats what gets sent to h/o. So damn hard to read some peoples anyway.

Do what I did, buy some KYB AGX shocks from the states, ~1100 to my door for all four corners. Not height adjustable so no cert needed but are damper adjustable so can set them pretty stiff when needed. I'm happy with mine :)

Yeah to be honest a good set of struts and matched slightly lower springs is all you really need. Platform and clevis adjustable struts... 99% of people (including me) will never actually use the adjustment.

At one stage I was trying to source these. Would be awesome to set them to fully soft for daily comfort, then stiffen them up for the track.

How do you find them?

Some awesome info here guys. Thanks all for your input. Second hand coilovers are now off the table. Im actually really liking viper guys option. How low did it make your car overall? Also do you have a link where you purchased yours from?

A set of D2 coilovers are around the 1k mark on trademe and XYZs around $1300

good old eBay, seller had plenty of good reviews so just went with it and he rigs it so you dont pay anything for customs, reports the value as something cheap as :D

tbh the hard setting would get old really quick on the street, so its pretty stiff, wide open would be pretty close to factory, but then again my struts had 200K on them so cant really compare to factory :) I have them set to half front and rear and its a nice firm ride.

I notice quicker turn in because of the higher damping meaning you arent rolloing the body then starting to turn, things like that.

probably worth noting I have King Springs (Lows) as replacement springs

For what it's worth, I just went with the BC Golds. They were the best bang for buck. $1350 from hyper. The BC golds are handy because they have the adjustable top hats as standard for my car and they aren't all too stiff for daily driving. I had Bilstein coilovers in my previous car and they were very stiff, so it was a big concern for me when choosing a set this time.

I've ben told the D2s are not very good, someone even told me that they probably wouldn't even get a cert (don't know why?).

Replacement stock shocks would be great but I was told $700 a corner for those. Viperguys option sounds like a good idea. Honestly, the cert process is pretty much a waste of time and a big hassle for a singular thing like coilovers.

A set of which dude? Big knockers or bowling pins? Agx im guessing stocks are the importer but often cheaper to buy thro asl or partmaster.

I tried George Stocks, but he said he wasnt getting them in any more because he needed to order them in in sets of 20 or some BS, but did propose some Koni inserts for an expensive price...like $450 a corner (that might have included installation if you sent your old struts to them I think)

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
