Hey can anyone tell me if a vf31 should have any play? as far as I know it is BB so it should def not have any? As i have just bought one and it seems to have small amount of back and forward play plus when i wiggle one end up and down i can see slight movement at the other end up and down... My guess is that this is stuffed?

Yes VF31 BB turbo and as primary turbo with P11 turbine housing gets worked very hard.

I have several other TT/BB turbos which have had extensive use and they have no play.

but when will some twin turbo owner stroke their engine to like 2.2 or 2.5 and run two bigger turbos in parallel.

It works for the GTR and the Supra.

Why not the GTB?

So you are saying that a vf31 should have no play? And the one I have is no good as it has a far amount of play, infact if I put enough presure on it i think I can here the fins rubbing the housing. Definatly no good aye?

There is a legacy in auckland with 2.5 and 2 turbos in parallel.

Works quite well even tho its a heavy beast

hey everyone

im having some problems with my subaru

in the last few weeks its been lagging ALOT in 2nd and 3nd

what could be the problem as i have no idea

could it be because not running the right boost or not getting the right amount of air

please get back to me if you have any ideas or really anything

I read through the whole thread and it seems very BG focused. Are there any proven turbos that would be a good upgrade for BE/BH owners?

without reading most of this thread and to be sorry if someone has said this already. if you get a 31, replace the housing with the p16 for a deeper seating depth and what not, running the same wheel set on both be fun im sure

hey all....just brought a pair of turbos of trade me.....vf26/27 combo, but got them only to find the 26 if very broken.......anywhoooo, ive come across a vf32 on trademe, just wondering if a 27/32 combo would work?

Don't think so - the VF32 was actually the secondary turbo of its pairings, you'd probably be wanting a 31 or a 33 instead. (I think the 26 is a primary?)

hey all well im putting my motor back tagher got to putting my turbos on noticed my secondary is a vf20 and primary is vf21 is this how its meant to be and also the vf20 doesn't have a waste gate flap is it ment to be . like that it ant welded or noting it was made without 1 .car is a 1998 leggy b4 . would putting a vf14 on the secondary make any more power ? got 1 siting there that i8 can use as compresser whell looks bigger

The VF20 is the primary and VF21 the secondary.

The earlier models TT had wastegate on the secondary turbo --> VF14 and the VF17 only

The secondary turbos VF14 and the VF21 are essentially equal in power no gains from swapping.

Both use same size compressor wheel.The turbine wheels are different 5700 vs 4600 but this offset by the turbine A/R, P16 vs P18
