Visiting day at the Park!!

On the last Sunday of every month tours will be taken of the facility at 1.00 pm. The next tour will be August 30th 2009

I popped in to have a look about a month ago and they were still sealing the track

theres a 12hr race there next year...not the 2 part 12hr like taupo coming up...

my boss was saying theres meant to be a meeting in september, not sure what class or anything. looks like a mean track. i know his first race there is booked for january.

That was Carson Racing Group - manager packed up the whole place and left everyone in the lurch.

There was supposed to be Teir 1 racing there back in march....

Will be great to have a go around it once it is finally done though!

well part of the track must be ready for racing now as my boss has a testing day there on the 11th of september in his single seater formula holden.

I drove Past at about 3 and they had all the hot mix guys at the bottom end redoing some of the seal

Track is looking awesome. I made it on the website too. I'm the guy with hands on head in the first photo in the construction updates

Reminds me a bit of Laguna seca, lots of hills. I think it will be a tricky track, lots of blind apexes. Also lots of brows you cant see past, so you'll really have to learn the track well before attacking it!

The infield is open to the public too, looks like you can get to see just about every corner so should make for excellent spectating

Its an amazing track and glad that I had the opportunity to walk around it.

As Optical mentioned there are some blind corners in there which will spice things up a bit.

Cant wait to get out there in November!

Saturday 8 May will see the Rally New Zealand field utilise the Hampton Downs circuit and facilities for an exciting day of up-close rally action for fans[/]
