Did a lot of the audio install today - Pioneer headunit, DD front components, JVC 4 channel amp, DD 6.5" subwoofer.

Sounds pretty damn decent!

Moved all my crap out of the boot and on to the back seat, noticeable increase of handling. Happy. It corners flatter

New rims and black wheel nuts on, not exactly how I pictured but not to offensive. Needs to go a bit lower now and will probably roll the inside lip of the gaurds to keep the tyres safe.

I duno about the ride height aye, the back is great, dont mind that gap at all. The front looks a bit funny in person.

I have a second set of lowering springs in the shed which are a little lower, might try them in the front and see how it looks.

As you say though very very usable.

Repco had a sale on some car audio shiz so i snagged me some bargains. Picked up an entry level mp3 capable (do they even sell ones that aren't anymore??) with front aux and preouts that comes with a set of 6" coax for 80 bucks, perfect basic upgrade. Also got two sets of fusion 6" coaxs for 10 bucks a set! I dont even have a use for them but great closet fodder at that price. They also had fusion 6x9s and 12" subs for 40 and component sets for 60. Dont know if they're doing it at other stores, i was at the grand opening thing of the Albany branch.

Well, It wasn't today exactly, but I now finally have my car up on axle stands, ready to unbolt stuff(having a creeper makes working on a car so much more fun, more relaxing anyway ) and got the primary Downpipe off, if anyone has a cheap single turbo downpipe-hit us up otherwise i'm going to play a game of bundy, I.E modify flange on exhaust via welder, make new flange haha (don't have to play with x-member then).- have gas for soldering Iron, so I can now solder stuff yay!

Sanded - bogged - sanded - primered - sanded and painted a bumper I picked up off a fellow member - done cam belt on a vg33 terranno and installed a full sound setup in another members car - what a full on day

Why bother going to all that work to not even tune it? I wouldn't bother even running an interim setup with factory ecu. Just up your credit card limit and do it properly

And its more fun the way jman is doing it.

If you got a 2nd cheap bonnet , you could modify it, without fear ofdestroying your current one. Get down on it with a patient ball hammer, or a block press type device.

Yea in all honesty I don't have the budget for that, would double it and it's really not worth it for whats in my engine.

At the end of the day its just a wrx engine with a vf23 on it. A few nice things bolted on but that's it.

Maybe later on i'd consider it, but for now it'll be fine as is

got valve covers alternator bracket etc back this morning after being powder coated black, pretty good quality for a freebie. engine goes together this week

GT has a $900 G2 Linkplus for sale... It would save a lot of wiring work

There are like 30 wires to connect up, shouldn't be too bad. Just hoping san can do it haha!

Washed car. Cleant the BoV with CRC Brakleen, was going to do the ICV as well but don't feel so confident taking the intercooler off alone.

Went down to hamilton from aucks and gave m.b engineering a hand removing n replacing a ej207 for a cs member.

I took out the Downpipe, heater hoses, and BBOD.

My gear boot showed up today; here's what It looks like;

after getting the murder suicide washer clip P.I.T.A things off, and breaking a few clippy thingys, and then putting the gear boot on , and putting the clips I could find back on, I realised that I hadn't stretched it quite far enough FL corner, so it looks odd. I might get some superglue to hold it tight aswell...
