Not today, but on Saturday I swapped the gearbox out for a much shorter one with a plated center diff, swapped the rear diff out for a very tight viscous, and replaced the rear left hub so that the wheel is actually straight and doesn't have permanent positive camber! Handles completely differently now, the old rear diff was practically open, and the old center was just as useless. It'll happily be thrown into corners sideways in gravel now, which is exactly what I wanted. Here's hoping I can handle it at the next hillclimb! The built engine will go back in next, have sorted all the noises and it'll be ready for another tune when I have the money.

Cheap Mitre10 buckets, Karcher K Series waterblaster, cheap Karcher branded foam lance (will be upgrading to a better lance at some point), decent microfibre washmit and then good quality products. I can go into more detail if anyone wants. If there is one single product I would recommend, its the Gyeon Q2M WetCoat. Spray on, waterblast and watch the water bead.

I tried this mod myself on my V7 STI as i was getting really bad surge but it turned out the main problem that the stock fuel sock wasn't used once I put that back on it was a lot better- not perfect but I wasn't tracking the car so wasn't too worried I actually bought 2x of the plane fuel tank 1x which is brand new If you want it? its the exact same Dubro tank pictured

yeah, Im more keen on the look of tire lettering, I think words rolling around on the tire looks real good and doesnt really matter toooo mch what it says as long as it makes sense. Prob gonna get wheels white first so im just getting the ideas going.

@A_J_T 4 pots are thinner at 24mm max whereas i think the 316mm is 30mm max same as the brembos. More mass = longer to heat up and obviously longer to cool down but hopefully that doesnt happen.

Recommend you take 5 minutes out to work out what you want from the car. Lately you've been all over the place wanting to change stuff; take it from someone who has been there and thrown heaps of money at a V7 that you really, really want to chill out for a second and work out an overall "finished for now" position you want to be in. First question you need to ask; what do you want E85 for? If you wanted to go E85 you really needed to put bigger injectors in last time around. You don't really have the block or the turbo to take advantage of flex fuel either. TBH by the time you got it sorted for E85 you may as well have just replaced the turbo and ended up with a car that was better in a whole lot of ways.

If you keep replacing S*** fittings with more S*** fittings, it's going to be a recurring theme

I've had fuel surge a whole once in the entire time I've had the car, and that was going around a roundabout in a big hurry with the needle pointing solidly at E. I wouldn't stress about it to be honest.

I prefer the import look. Looks classier than NZ new. Front fogs are first click up, symbol on the cluster is usually green, shows a dipped beam through fog. Rear fog is second click up that auto returns to first position, and symbol on the cluster is orange, showing a level or direct beam through fog.

Yeah I think both would be nice. I think its worth $200, yes its expensive for what it is however it makes it pop much more and its gonna pay its self off every time you look at it Golds are nice but I gotta say, I prefer white.

Ohh that looks mint! The wheels IRL would be a lot more clean looking and less bright I think so it would be sweet haha. Do you think white wheels and tyre lettering or just lettering? $200 is expensive but it makes it look so good I think.

I've struck this a lot. Not sure if they're supposed to be factory fitted or not, but when doing the PDI from new, I've found heaps not fitted and the plate in the glovebox. I would just rivet them on, but I don't know what other techs did. There's nothing to say it has to have it, there's a stamped VIN on the firewall.

I used SP500 on my Legacy 3.0R with standard rotors and it was doing at least 5+ laps of Taupo without issue. Boostin might be able to chime in, he was able to get better lap times than me out of the car, on what I assume are the same pads.

Several years ago I acted as the sweeper car that went though at the end of each stage in the Targa Rally. Plenty of experienced drivers went off the road at speeds far less than 200km/h. They were okay due to lower speeds or the fact they had a roll cage and helmet etc. Most were caught out by totally unexpected hazards on the road such as oil spill, wild animal etc. And they had far more driving experience than you - by a country mile. Do yourself a favour and reign in your perecived powers of invincibility before it is too late. You have the rest of your life to live. I may think you're a knob, but doesn't mean I wish you ill will...

Issues, the early legacys are renowned for destroying turbos. Even if they are well serviced. They are just as highly strung, given they are still a 280 (ish) hp turbocharged Japanese performance tourer, and yes definately 98 only. People seem to think that Japanese cars will run nicely over here, fact of the matter is anything that is considered premium, luxury or any sort of special model (so like, 95% of all Japanese imports) are tuned to run on 100 octaine fuel, so running em here on 98 is less than ideal. However. They are retunable, and if you replace the turbo for one from a facelift legacy (vf44/vf45) remove all the oil feed banjo filters and a Gentle retune, you can have one very rapid, reliable and 95 friendly car. Out of the box, they can be touchy. But its easily remedied
