*waits for BC5RA to turn up*

Subaru RA models are usually stripped out Group N rally homologation models. They are usually lighter and forgoe luxuries (which will be binned by a rally team anyway). Of course you can option an RA from the factory, so their specifications are all over the place. I have seen RA expanded as many things, but primarily 'Race Altered' which I think is a little bit of a Japanese <-> English oddity. In reality it is probably not an acronym at all, and any meanings beyond the letters themselves are an afterthought.

If by 'impreza engine in it' you mean an EJ20, then I would say yes. But generation one Legacies were rallying before there was such a thing as an Impreza, so it is a bit like saying "I have some of my child's DNA in me"

Or it could just be a young fellow who doesnt know, and has asked questions that he could solved by searching, but sometimes questions just need to be asked :)

and are we really trying to scare people off by taking the piss out of them straight away at least wait a few weeks :)

I'm not even going to bother.

However i will say that the photo of the Legacy above with the gold 18" wheels with polished edges is in fact a Non-turbo with Turbo running gear and is not an RA.

It is owned by a guy in Australia from RSlibertyclub.

Series 1 can not be optioned from factory Series 2 can be.

I also have met someone with a gen 1 RA. It was pretty quick.Think it pulled an easy 12.

No way an RA would run an easy 12.

In fact it possibly would be slower down the 1/4 than an RS due to the gap between 4th and 5th gear.

the rumour is, 2 version 1 rs ra's were imported brand new when they were , well brand new, possum bourne got one and one was ordered and sold to a lady in southland , they were both red, the one sold in southland still exists, have seen it and was for sale on trade me about 18 months ago.

So what if any are the diferences between an ra and a regular rs engine wise?

Fully blueprinted and hand assembled.

Port and Polished head's with gold alumite cam cover's.

Handfinished crank signed by early STI technician.

Forged pistons and rod's.

Do you know if they still have hydraulic lifter's?

I'll be honest.

Engine wise they are nothing overtly technical, Early RS engine's are robust but have Hydraulic type lifter's and small oil gallery's that will contaminate easily if not meticulously maintained.

The valves can stick, and overall the head's don't flow very well.

So think of the RA engine as a high performance version but still with all of the shortcoming's.

They made about 20hp more than a standard RS engine.

I think of them from more of an historical angle, in saying that mine doesn't exactly hang around.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
