On that note, why are all cars aside from the likes of the Nano, Smart et al so bloody OBESE these days?! It's a pain in the arse for more than just performance and fuel economy... I CAN'T CLEAN THE BLOODY ROOF. I can't even REACH the bloody roof if I stand on the door sill! COME ON RICHARD. Everything seems to be designed so there's headroom to keep your toddler on your shoulders as you drive, but not everyone is a 6'4" goliath. Some of us are five foot!

Unfortunately everyone has decided that they shouldn't have to be horribly maimed or killed to death when they crash their cars into each other. The downside is that cars are bigger, and ACC levies go up to pay for people who by rights should have died in car crashes. The upside is that less people die.
