Why are Genome mufflers so wanted?

As title states. I spent some time on the YouTube trying to see why in a few threads people seem to think the Genome exhaust is highly regarded?

From the videos I've listened to, crap quality aside, I find the Genome has a real hollow sound to it and no deep throaty rumble

Not everyone likes a deep throat rumble.

Though it's probably a flow thing, so therefore allowing 'higher performance' but as a daily, I would be happy to sacrifice 2kw for an awesome sound.

Extra Edit: I remember hearing a clubsub sticker increases by 5kw, SO just chuck on a clubsub sticker, it'll make up for the lack of Hi-Flow muffler.

So regular muffler + clubsub sticker = 3 more kw and awesome sound ;D

I do agree the sound is subjective, but I didn't think people would prefer that hollow higher tone rumble.

This video represents what I think you mean by 'hollow'

I feel it sounds more like the exhaust air is twisting, like a cyclone weird thought- I know but thats what it sounds like to me lol.

this also sounds slightly throaty, but still that resonation of hollow.

It all boils down to what you want, and personal preference.

not to mention- what you can afford

Ill admit they dont sound great on YT but they do sound much better in real life. As said they dont produce the raw savage noise that aftermarket systems produce but you've got to remember that not everyones into getting attention everytime they drive down the main street.

It's not hollow sounding IRL... my flatmate's standard exhaust sounds more hollow than my genome...identical systems except rear muffler

i have one on my 22B. Sound is dependant on associated items like extractors, middle muffler, dump pipe and size off pipe.

My car sounds like a race car it doesnt have the subaru rumble at all.

Love the rumble... She purrs when nicely warmed up. Butt dyno says few extra killerwasps, its subtle. Nice choppy raspy rumble, but at an acceptable level. And no copper issues, as its a factory part

Iv owned a genuine genome on my v7. It was the best exhaust iv never had to fit myself. Was quiet rumble at idle and when cruising and at full bore it was as if I opened up the gates of h*** and unleashed the beast as I ravaged the road with flames and smoke trails.

Iv yet to find a nicer one.

thats the reason i sold my genome and got a proper sounding muffler

lol too much work apreciating the sound of a genome

i wud rather get me some hard rumble

anyway its also down to personal preference as well and mostly what someone said abt brand thing lol

I like the sound. The best thing for me, seeing as the car is still a daily driver, is that it isn't at all loud in the lower rev ranges. According to the seat 'o' meter it doesn't seem to have lost anything up top having switched from a very loud and droney 3" -> 5" muffler.
