Hi, my car is equipped with Brembos but the braking is less than spectacular. After about 15-20 mins of spirited driving through twistys the front brakes start smoking and I pretty much need to use the hand brake to come to a stop.

I've replaced the brake fluid and bled the brakes and that's improved the pedal feel but it still doesn't stop any better.

I have no idea what brake pads are in the car at the moment but they are very dusty.

Cheers.

Just how hard are you driving it?? (Or how much are you braking??)

I have never got my Brembos to fade even a little bit.

I had issues with fade on stock bendix gct 2 pot wrx stuff when worked damn hard but with setup now close to brembo spec with bluestuff pads I find the hotter they get the better they bite. Fresh fluid probably helps.

Not driving very hard at all. My old RA only had 4 pots and $30 Super Cheap Auto pads and I never had any fade driving it the same.

What Boon said, you shouldn't be running out of brakes on the road unless you're driving like a muppet or something is broke.

Don't forget decent brake fluid too.

You have obviously never driven with bad pads then. The repco specials will give fade from 100 coming to a stop sign 2 times in a row. I've had fade with trw many times and brembos. But I tow lots

Who the hell puts repco specials on an STi? Still a muppet.

Definitely start with pads... surely yours are soaked with oil or something. To actually get them smoking... that's pretty spectacular.

Does towing with an STi count as muppetry ?

Worse pads I had in my old STi v6 were the stock factory pads.

Only smokers I ever had were Bendix Ultimates.

Towing with a sti is muppet ish. But good thing I have never had a sti or an impreza. But all car yards I've felt with put repco specials in when they comply the cars.

I have been using " Remsa " brake pads in my coupe...

Done two playdays without any problems..Not yet half worn..No fade at my casual pace..

Work well when cold on road..

Fitted to a lot of euro's as OEM...

Best of all available for around $50 retail for most models...Thats for 4 pads..

Match them to your $100 zetum zu tyres @ 100 each..= $500 for new tyres and pads...Winner...

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
