Whats the general consensus on GPS tracking units? I've only just briefly looked into it but can anyone save me some time and tell me whats the go. The Mongoose PT890 unit looks pretty good. Small unit, No ongoing fees etc. Cheers!

Outlandishly expensive for what is essentially a re-packaged version of the Chinese ones you can buy for sweet FA on Aliexpress/DX.

This is something I am interested in as well. Not so much for the road car but the rally car. The amount of race/rally cars stolen is becoming a little alarming. Hell the last one I saw taken was actually still on the trailer and the tow vehicle was stolen with car & trailer attached. Makes me all the more keener to be able to turn up at the house & retrieve my vehicle with a little of my displeasure shown to those that have it! I have tried some trackers but when they arent in cellphone reception they are useless.

Thought people would have more to add to this topic.

I have decided to keep my thoughts/comments to myself. Just takes one read of my 2nd stolen car thread to gather my thoughts (and others)

You mean that you got ****ed by AVS and their **** product and then they went completely teflon-shouldered and washed their hands of it?

I don't care if they're a club sponsor, that was unforgiveable.

Have AVS on mine, seems to run well until now. I do check the tracking every few days and it quite accurate. The main reason to get it is that I can get lower stolen excess from insurance (i got $0 excess in case of stolen).

Speaking only of the cheap ebay ones they are worth having but you should note they will flatten a battery if the car is unused for a week or why depending on the battery its self.. although its got a built in battery the unit keeps sending gps signals so puts drain on the battery.

If its a subaru it should be getting driven daily unless the engines out.

Well maybe for some but there are weekend only examples out there to that might get caught out/ not just cars boats or why would suffer the same. I would say its like that with all gps trackers?, perhaps a battery upgrade to go with the tracker would be a good investment in any case.

I like the bit where only 'star rated' alarms will get you lower insurance & cheapies/DX.com/Alixpress wont as I am led to believe

the star rating system doesn't even exist anymore.....

Yep mine sits in garage now. Weird how wife thinks its a bad idea to have the engine in bits on the pool table when its not getting driven...

Is that right Clint, do i?

More like your not allowed to drive the audi so you need to have your car in a drivable state.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
