Hey guys, I'm wanting to lower my bp5 wagon for good fitment, what brands do you guys recommend from experience? I've been looking into Tein and BC Golds. I'll mainly be driving it on the street and the odd track day

Speaking or mcas. I was corresponding with the guys who do the mcas (alignment specialists). And they recommended 14kg for rear and 10kg front. That seems bit extreme to me. Would like your thoughts @Andy_Mac

Jeezus that's heavy for a street car with the odd track day. Most seem to usually go a touch lighter with the rear one's too. Did they explain why they thought it was necessary to go so heavy? They obviously know what they’re doing but may not have grasped your intended use and tolerance of brutal ride comfort.

Mine with 9/9 is fine on the track but isn't super stable with big or multiple (corrogation) bumps on the street. Can't seem to find a sweet spot that works for most. Have been considering dropping back to 8kg for the rears. The original 5.5’s rode bloody well but would hit the bump stops too often at my height.

Yea when I read that I was like wtf. Surely the rear doesn't need that much.

I just enquired about it on their contact page and left my email. They got back and said the street ultimate kit is most suited to some road/some track use. I then enquired about the spring rates and they said that. I haven't had the time to hit them up to ask why. Will go and see them in person and ask them about it.

If you’re basically never going to the track then I wouldn’t say you intend to track. People take stock cars to the track and don’t have issues, even aftermarket coilovers intended for the street can attend track days with no issues. When people say “track” more often than not it’s not an actual track day, it’s a non racing / play day on a track - 10-20min sessions.

When a manufacturer or equivalent hears you say track days, they assume you mean full on racing with subjecting the car to a lot of repetitive abuse for extended amounts of time.

i have 6/6 on my Wrx and I would say it’s pretty stiff, I wouldn’t want it any stiffer for a daily driver ( I could probably soften my damping more if I had slightly stiffer springs tho).  Factory STI suspension is only around 5 I believe

not so, established manufacturers like sachs, bilstein, ohlins et al know the modern difference between track day and race day.

?

10/14 is hardcore,

stock legacy is something like 3.7/5.4

for cmparison

stock sti v6 4.3/3.5

stock v10 sti 4.7/4.4

The lower ones are a good option for the price. Most cheapo options are trash and have issues after a year or two. The level of support when dealing direct helps a heap too. They tailor them to the specific car and what you want so very little chance of getting something completely wrong for you.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
