Power vs Looks

what do you prefer?

Sleeper?

Power?

Or a pamela anderson....looks good,smells good,but a little temperamentel.

Not to mention...."its got beef curtains"

i prefer something that has power rather than looks cool, much rather speed my cash on getting places quicker haha. although under bonnet is another story, as you can see by my build.

My mate pulled over a Honda last week, with NOS bottles on the parcel shelf, brand new custom interior, 19's etc.

He asked 'do you have the cet for the NOS?" 'no officer it's not plumbed in"

So turns out it's got a stock 1600 vtec, untouched not even a type R.

My mate told hom that his Hyundai has more power and the owner replied 'it's all about the looks ay"

After chatting, he admitted he's spent $15k on dressing up his car but nothing on brakes or power.

Audi RS4, the ultimate sleeper for me!

Personally I spent on both ;D Not the cheapest option I admit lol. And if I was building another track car, I wouldn't bother worrying too much on the looks department apart from maybe a lip or something.

I'm all for speed, don't really care what it looks like (Maybe just a little but only as long as my "appearance upgrades" coincide with a power or handling upgrade )

Looks and handling for one of the projects, and initially just a little more power for the ugly bomb. Nothing is complete without its other!

All... but for me it goes looks -> power -> handling

by looks i don't mean bodykits etc just something nice looking, mags, lowered, exhaust

possibly... but id rather have gut ranuching (sp?) straight line power than being able to speed round corners at twice the posted speeds.

all of it in little doses as far as budget allows..

u gotta have some looks (not show kind but just decent kit etc)

gotta have some decent street power and handling is a must to make the most of your power...

well thats my theme anyway..nothing over the top just decent in all depts

Same, I'll even go to the extent of downgrading the looks.

For example If I had a GT legacy,

swap the front bar for an lx liberty bar (not sure what NZs p o o model is)

However, I've only got a gx Liberty with no power or looks, but it has handling mods... For offroad!

so the way ive done it

looks(lip, wheels, lower), then a new engine, then handling.

How i wish id done it

Handling (ties with looks imo), powa, the rest of the looks.

Looks comes into two categories. There is performance looks - lowered, bigger brakes, nice rubber etc..

Then handling stuff that you cant see, like ALk, roll center stuff, camber, caster, arms, steering, hidden braces and the likes.

And there is Rice (styly engine bay, the audio, the tints).

So i propose that there are four categories of which i would do in this order

Performance/handling looks > Handling > Powa > Rice

I think you need abit of everything, cars that are all looks but no go are gay.

cars that look stink, well look stink...

Yea alot of things tie in, exhaust, FMIC - power & looks. adjustables/lowering, bigger brakes - handling + looks.

The Legacy was most definitely about the looks, the sounds, and the performance came when it was necessary.

Now with a new car, the focus will be on some looks, but more performance and handling mods.

Spec C's don't need much mods really.

then finish off with power.

power then downgrade the exterior to appear underpowered, for example hx20 stickers and non turbo bonnet on a wrx

Take a CF mold of one Weight saving. Just get it painted. Also, HX boots have wings so it's just the sticker you're downgrading from too lol. Someone did that from memory...

well for me..the list goes

handling sti srtuts and springs,also it lowered it

power"did the sti upgrade"

left the standard foz rims on and scoop....but only for a while.

then did the rims.

wife wanted a scoop. she took one look at nztintin,s scoop and said "i want one"..ha ha good girl

At the end of the day,i am a power junkie....moore mooore mooooore powah!!!!!!! 8)
