I suppose the first question any of us ask should be, why do you want to do 180km/h anyhow? do you do a lot of track work? or just want to show of to your mates, kill a few of them, and ruin a few xmas's for a couple of familys?

Agreed, hopefull hes not trying to make your sig quote come true.

hi .

This car is ONLY used for trackdays . the furthest i have driven it on road is to the dyno tune shop last week . PLUS i am NO boy racer , i get my speed fix where it is safe and legal to do so .

The only reason i want to go above 180 is i am not sure at hamptons , but i am sure at puke , i will hit the speed cut .

crap ... looks like i will have speed cut then tomorrow . (maybe not if this auckland rain keeps up !)

This car was only bought 3 months ago , so still pretty standard . but it is definately only a track car , so will be slowly modifying it as money and time allows....but mostly the money part ;D

well i am planning to attend the megameet next year ..so will definately have to get the speedcut sorted .

hamptons you can hit 200+ no problems. this was covered a while back, putting a switch on the speedo signal is fine for brief stints.

if it's a dedicated track car, you should get a proper ecu for it

yeah i remember the same conversation a few months back

in my experience with v2/v3 ecu's the car misses pretty badly with an abnormal speed signal. maybe other ecu's react differently

but if u have a 180 speedo and u get rid of the cut then wont u just either snap the speedo needle or strip the drive cos its hits the dash not long after 180

Nope, won't damage the speedo needle. It just sits against the "stop" until you drop back below 180kph. AFAIK they aren't directly driven but work off magnetism? So no direct mechanical link between the speedo drive and the needle itself.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
