How do I find out what sort of Map Sensor is in my car?

It is a Denso 220 12AA090

Google wasn\'t much help other than someone speculating it was a 3 bar item.

I think V5/6 sti/non run the same map sensor and it taps out around 18psi avi found out. Its in one of his threads somewhere. Could be way off the mark but that was my reasoning behind 2.5bar link job when I went to g4.

where is and what does the stock gc8 dccd controller . not the thumb wheel . the bit between the thumb wheel and the diff ?

its above the drivers right knee under the dash. it modulates a signal to the electromechanical centre diff depending on the thumbwheel position. it also illumimates the dash dccd lights. check the DCCD thread for more info

Why wont my car start :(, it cranks but doesnt fire, althought when checking for blockages(at uni mind you) it has fuel going to and out of the fuel filter, othertimes its fires without a hitch and acts like nothing happened >.<

could be an intermittant cam position sensor. read up on checking your CEL codes, the ecu will log sensor errors.

Hmm sweet as, might have to factor in a bigger Map sensor then. I want to hit 20 PSI if I can.

i\'m getting CEL 21 (coolant temperature sensor), took it out and cleaned all the contacts etc. error code came back up after i reset them within 10minutes.

would a new repco coolant temperature sensor fix the problem?

also getting CEL 32 (oxygen sensor), i heard there are two on my car so which one is it? i want to clean it up before i spend 200+ on a new one

I\'d suggest genuine for coolant sensor, but a tridon one from supercheap will work.

O2s can\'t be cleant afaik

with the correct rods yes but you\'d need alot of practice/paitence for exhausts, & as \'we are borg\' mentioned will be mig welded but alot of exhaust shops will just use c02 or argosheild & hardwire.

we use stainless mig wire & satinsheild gas on all our stainless work, its not exhausts but comes in handy.

Tig\'s quite timely for a repair :)

Or if using mig, just use SS flux core...

Got access to a multimeter? If you do, just check what the voltage readings are. should be .1 to .9v I think (Please correct if I\'m wrong anyone) Could be cheaper to get a mechanic who have access to a computer to get them to run diagnostics on it, they can check readings in real time and see any stored CELs.

With the plug in it? Air con receiver/dryer. Or anl amp fuse... :D

/quote]

Yeah with the plug, it has a glass circle hole thingy ontop too. So is that where the air con gass lives?

Yes it is indeed, it is called the filter/dryer. and the plug in the top is a pressure switch I\'m pretty sure.

Will a exhaust from a 97 GF8 WRX fit on an 01 WRX hatch?

it might fit. i\'ve seen a lot of people saying v1-7 is the same, and also that v7 is different. my aftermarket downpipe was ment to be for an earlier model, but it went on my v7 ok, but it needs some modification. which it\'s getting monday :)

lol so in short it doesnt fit :P sorry pedantic..

yes v7 DP are same general shape as earlier ones, but they dont clear the steering knuckle mostly, thus modify required = does not fit imo.

to answer OP, probably can cut and adjust the hangers if required , but at a guess it will be to short by a wee bit, chassis bit bigger on GD/GG, but dont have the wheel base, and over all length numbers at hand.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
