Apart from the Pro of being able to say "It's RWD" there really isn't any pro's. I tested a RWD wrx for a guy up north looking at buying one, and OMG it handled like crap. Would never go down that track, if I wanted RWD I would look at getting a RWD car like the mighty old skool starlet. 8)

pros and cons of welding up centre diff to make RWD, thoughts?

Pros - easier to pick up hoes (if thats your thing) as you can say your a mad drif0r au.

Cons - sh*t breaks more easily, diffs, cvs, axles even. Ohh and of course the tyre bill. Then theres the handling - you wont want to drive in the wet anymore....

But then if you were like everyone else you wouldn't be "different" anymore ?

;D

As WRXER said, if you want RWD then buy a car that was designed RWD from the start.

End of story.

::)

maybe he doesnt wana go buy a skyline or cefiro or similar tho. like myself i like rwd but also like subbies, theres only one way to get the best of both worlds.

rwd is obviously not for everyone, my advice would be to listen to the people that have done it.

next step for me is to fit a r200 rear diff, but thats another topic altogether.

Ok well first up if you're going to go rwd then of course its going to handle like shit-the cars factory suspension is set up for a 4wd drivetrain so do it properly and get a decent coilover/strut brace/swaybar setup and get it setup for rwd, as far as breaking things goes when I first got mine done I broke a rear halfshaft, got it fixed and then blew the diff. Now I have a rebuilt (new shims etc) sti diff and had some custom thicker halfshafts made up and its had a hell of a hiding without breaking anything for nearly a year now and still going strong. Also as everyone knows suby gearboxes arnt the strongest box out and converting to rwd takes a lot of the stress off the box normally associated with a 4wd drivetrain. I have never had a problem with my box although if it was still 4wd and I gave it half the abuse I give it now I would be chewing through the boxes. Point is if you're going to do a rwd conversion do it properly and then you wont be left wondering why it handles like shit/breaks all the time etc. Just my 2 cents......

Pro's - You can do skidz au, and come on, who doesnt want to light a big dirty patch of rubber down.

Con's - Besides the mechanical issues that have been mentioned. Anyone who owns a skyline, supra, or a RX7 can do better skids and think your a twat for not doing it properly, 90% of people in subis will look at you like your a twat for ruining a perfectly good awd car.

Once again get it setup properly and you should easily do just as good a skid as any skyline/supra/rx7 etc, got a nice vid on my phone of my wagon alongside my mates s5 rx7 both smoking the bags, can you post vids on here? how?

You could put a supra gearbox in like my wrx. All i need now is a cusco datto r160 diff and better halfshafts and I can crank up the power a bit, im only running 12psi atm, still making 260hp atw tho :)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
