mates flatmate bought a new car i finally saw it in the weekend as he was going to get the front painted.

its a 3L 2002 goes all good but isn't as fast as my subi but man i think it just looks the part.

it was funny the mrs has saved 4 to the trademe watchlist in the hope that we will one day be able to afford one, i just told her that his house deposit.

from a financial perspective, i still maintain that it only makes sense to only own an appreciating car or an old dunger unless you are able to claim depreciation, insurance and diesel etc expenses to offset company taxation.

I'm sure as long as i fix 10 computers a year i should be able to call myself a business??

whats the downside to owning your own business if it isn't actually making any money e.g profits and if anything is running at a loss?

You can offset any loss you make on your company against personal earnings for tax purposes.

Eg. Your LAQC home owning company makes a loss of $50k per year. You assign that all to yourself as sole director.

your personal income is 100k per year. The 50k is minused from this so essentially you fund the LAQCs shortfall from your own personal income and when you file your tax return you claim tax back as the majority of tax on the 100k has been paid at the highest rate of 39% when it should have been paid at a lesser rate or not at all.
