I think if you don't mind changing over a whooooole lot of loom, and you have the electronic speedo sender for the gearbox, then it's not too hard.

TBH I prefer the early dash but that's just me...

how do the looms work?

is there a seperate loom for dash engine and body?

Nope, it's all one big bastard.

Well, there's the engine loom that sits on the engine, the rest is one giant lump as far as I know.

It would almost be easier to splice the new dash loom in, or re-pin it.

All I'm really after is the dash itself Not really fussed on the speedo cluster even if I could retrofit the speedo cluster into the version 5 dash lol. Now I'm sounding silly.. But hey i rekon it would look good

No your sounding hori.

Every thing is different, the steering column and the hole that the steering column goes threw, the loom, the heater controls, electronic vs cable speedo..Is your going to that then you need to change everything absolutely everything.. no idea about repinning but i don't think that would end very well.

I came across a thread a while ago on the Internets where someone had roughly calculated the front/ rear proportion changes with different factory caliper swaps - mostly just changing fronts (classic 4 pots, BP/BL 4 pots, Brembos etc), and maybe one aftermarket 6 pot caliper for arguments sake. Was one of the Legacy specific sites from memory.

Thanks guys.

I cant seem to open the link on my work computer, but will have a look tonight at home.

I've found a cheaper set of 4 pots, and keen to put them on, if only for aesthetics...

Just wanted to make sure they wouldn't cause the rear to do anything stupid like lose break pressure or anything that would cause me to lose control...

All that will happen is that you likely change the bias front to rear slightly which either slightly increases or slightly decreases your overall braking efficiency. It's not going to make your car dangerous.

Did you have to change anything to fit the 316s to classic 4 pots Clint? They're thicker as well aren't they?

Pic stolen from here: http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f68/foreter-turbo-brakes-255386/

You run bl/bp rotors and nissan skyline 4 pots. Yep you would need different adaptors as the bolt spacing is different other than that they're the same sumitomo caliper.

If you click the link to my garage you would see yes it does. :P

Roger!

So fitting 2 pots to the rear of a BH5, would "technically" require certification if an adaptor is needed... bugger, will have to wait till the budget will stretch to adjustables which need it anyway!

Anybody have any tips/tricks/warnings etc re installing a turbo? Sourced a replacement VF28 with low kms to replace my old whiney one and trying to decide if i will install it myself or get a garage to do it.

Soaking all the bolts/nuts in inox mx3 the night before means a lot less cursing.

Use new copper washers.

use new genuine exhaust gaskets

Once its all on pull the fuel pump relay and crank the car over a few times to get oil to the turbo.

Cool thanks - any point in buying spare silicone inlet in case stock one breaks/tears? (from what i've read this is common?)

Any suggestion on what to use to give the replacement turbo a cleanup before it goes on?

Unsure what inox mx3 is.. would crc/wd40 work?

Any local automotive retailer should have it. Difference between that and crc is that inox doesnt dry off so keeps soaking through the nut till you was it off.

Worth doing if youre keen to spend the money.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
