wagon vs sedan

Hi there

I am looking at getting another subie, last one I had was a v9 sti. I am wanting to look at the earlier versions v3-v6. I have looked through the net but have not got a straight answer.

Is there any difference in hp and torque between a certain version sedan model and hatchback/estate/stationwagon mode? I am oly interested in getting a sti model.

Sorry if this has been asked before or I am rehashing!

As far as I\'ve learnt, there\'s no power difference in the v3~6 STi sedan/wagon.

There is 40-50kg weight diff but you have to sacrifice a little to get a lot.

no in all honestly as above, they are slightly heavier but have the same suspension geometry and floor layout and up to v7 sti (the last wagon variant) they are identical in power output.

It has been stated that due to nature of cabin wagons are less stiff and inherantly have more flex but my thoughts are if you are that concerned about that kinda stuff you would have already caged????

MAY be a diff between nz new and jdm. Built for diff markets but normally factory tune is rich enough to compensate I think. Speedo goes higher so must be faster

The non-sti Sport Hatch\'s had less power compared to the non-sti Sedan.

Sedan/Coupe FTW!! Type R\'s are great, sucks if it\'s more then you + 1 haha...

Personally I\'m a sedan fan, however many a time I wished I had a hatch haha for that oversized object that just won\'t fit.
