i'm in the middle of this at the moment, got it to run, kind of. Thinking about going for a link

Are you using all V3 STI sensors etc or trying to use the BG5a ones? It definately is do-able but probably need to swap alot of sensors aswell if you already haven't. Takes much concentration and effort though.

Have you checked the plugs etc since you had it running the other day?

Keep perservering and you'll get there!

3 of the plugs do fit. but i havnt changed any of the sensors over. i still have all the BG5a ones. i figured it was the same job as the EJ20R to Single turbo conversion but with a different loom. or are their differences in the engine? i was considering just re-looming with one from an EJ20R then following the pinout diagram in the thread. whats your oppinion on that? im not too fussd about time as long as that would work in the end and the loom is compatable with my engine.

The engines can be considered the same from the outside. They have different internals, and performance, but as far as the conversion is concerned, you can consider EJ20H and EJ20R the same thing.

As for the car, i'm not really sure on differences between the 4-plug TT loom and the 3-plug. AFAIK, the 4-plug TT is a half way, a mix match of the old gen 1 4-plug, and the new 3-plug. I.e. old plugs, new sensors. If i recall correctly. a BG5A does indeed have the newer cam and crank angle sensors, and TPS for example. I may be wrong.

As far as running a 3-plug ECU in a BG5A, you will need to change the AFM, Injectors, and possibly the map sensor to match the ECU you put in. If for example you chose an STi 3-plug, you need an orange sticker afm, yellow injectors, and a 3-bar map (i don't know if the BG5A has a 2 or 3 bar map sensor). But if you put in a foz, or EJ20G 3-plug ecu in, that will run grey injectors, and a purple/blue AFM.

As for the specifics of the wiring required to go to a 3-plug, i do not know. We attempted, but were defeated by it. Call it, the left hand not know what the right was doing. But mattapo appears to be successful with his wiring, talk to him. I should probably talk with him about what he's done soon, so we can colaborate and get instructions up for the future conversion thread.

hey guys is any body keen in pamily area thts allready done the change from twin to single i scored a sti motor with blown big end as parts just gotta swap head over and bolt everthing up

just missing intercooler bracket and crankcase beather and another rigth hand fuel rail if any body spares

which loom are you meaning? the one on the engine? if so yes with a couple wiring changes for the ignition

have you touched the loom yet or is it still standard?

if its standard and a 7c ecu can you sent me a few pics of the ecu and loom , so i can re pin mine back to standard?

a mate told me it would be easy and he did it but the car dosent start . and he didnt label the cables haha

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
