Put My RS in the shed up on axle stands and Linda and i began removing gearbox and diff in preparation for V3RA DCCD box and diff conversion..

BTW.. Found a good way to not get smelly gearbox oil on your hands....

Just get Linda to remove the drain bung!!!!

I dropped the bung last time i removed it. and had to go fishing in the bucket...

Linda had hands of gold!!!!

Use the back bolt from the A/C - alternator bracket for the clutch slave (the one between the bracket and the intake manifold).

I think i broke my input shaft bearings. After a spirited drive just off the limiter in 5th for ~10k's (on a closed private road) It makes a rattly whirring noise in neutral now. Goes away with the clutch in.

Also nearly put a gearbox through my rear window. Wasnt very secure after all EJ20T :P

The carputer also died after i hit a bump on the matata straights. Turned out the power cord fell out, and there i was panicking!

Finally filled up the gearbox with fluid and fixed some other minor issues, took her for a cautious drive round the block testing that everything was alright, which it was so took her for a wee strop out in the woods, much happier as a 4wd.

sounds like you had your foot resting on the clutch for that 10k and cooked the thrust/release bearing

does it make that sound while driving? is more like a chattering noise?

I found an ingenious method of securing it and will pass on this knowledge when you come to pick it up!

Nope not a release bearing, I use my foot-rest for resting my foot and my clutch pedal for making the tires squeel.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
