**** that's been ages! I remember when you were in Chch and building it. What is the setup these days?

I got transferred to Aux in a miminal notice kind of promotion so it went on ice for a while while I cleared my student loan and other debts.

To save on time...I ended up grabbing another members forged shortblock engine/td06 twisted setup with a link also last year to swap into the gc8. Was initially going for 300kw atw stuff then realised I ultimately need more seat time, and learn to drive properly then the ol "moar horsepower" adage, so td06 setup will be more then enough for me...One day I will go for the 3076 setup I have always wanted haha.

Was a suprise when my mechanic posted on my facebook quoting Frankenstiens "it's aliivvvve" haha. The amount of work he has done on it, and the minimal amount he has charged has made the time it took worth it once you take into account quality of the fabrication work.

Just the timing is a bit of a bugger as blew my money on another subi haha,as didn't think it will be done towards end of year :P. Ah well at least it's done so no complaints from me.

On the plus side - I now have a full running gear v8 sti to transplant goodies into track car one day :D

Put back together idled for not even five minutes sliiip! The issue is not cam belt related I now realise. But instead oil related. It explains why it took so long for it to slip initially. It's the camshaft not getting oil methinks. Because I swapped out the avcs solenoids which i now realise lubricate the camshaft from the outside as opposed to the earlier ones which lubricate from the inside. This is a big realisation for me that my car in fact hates me, I'm gunna see if I can do this with the engine in place, no reason why not. Then I just need to re-route oil to them. As the drivers side feeds off the turbo oil feed & jumps up to a weird little spinner that my oil feed doesnt connect to.

That's balls. If it was my engine, I'd be pulling it out and removing the cams to check how their bearing surfaces look. Cause if they're binding up enough to slip the cambelt, they may be looking a bit worse for wear. /understatement

Oh; I'll be pulling them out to have a look at them: but I'm going to do it in place.

Sick of pulling bloody engines.

Technically itd only be two.motors; the other one was first repaired and then decided it didnt like that.

I do have access to workshops if need be. And to be honest; my pride dropped out the window aaages ago haha. On the plus side; at least im good for a laugh ;)

Was about to head down to the mountain last night, gave the car a quick once-over... and found a 3 inch crack in the radiator with coolant bubbling out. F***.

So today was spent replacing the radiator, not skiing. At least I didn't get half way to Ohakune and end up on the side of the road in cloud of stinky smoke.

just installed my zerosport sequential controller, have yet to have a decent tutu with setting and what not. but seems like it could be the best way to go about things without resorting to a single turb conversion. more to follow.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
