give it gas.. nah, I\'d lay off the pedal, slow to a suitable off road stop, and immediately pop the hood and investigate for hoses etc. If nothing, reset the bat, check to see if the cel returns then nana it home for a code check.

Head for the nearest motorway and see if it holds 20psi at redline in 6th gear.

I would pull over and visually check the bay and see if the codes common like afm then travel shortest distance possible. I kept reset instructions in my car in case this ever happened.

Depends how much you care about your car. Sounds like not much... so just drive it home and check the codes.

My daily has had an error light on periodically for months and I\'ve done nothing about it... the code says knock sensor.

If the car drives fine and you pull a code and it was a cold morning chances are itll show the o2 sensor and afm.

Its done it in my legacy and my father in laws the past couple of weeks.

I would pull over, pop the petrol flap then get a lighter right in the filler hole so you can see if its blocked

Brilliant; I think this is a great method to see if your darwin filter is broken.

Checking codes is a peice of piss; so I\'d check them; to see what it was for peace of mind.

Yup, probably pull over, check the code, google it on my phone, make a decision about driving it.

I would think twice about driving another half hr, 15 mins would be fine, turn it off, let it cool then start checking stuff/turn car on see if its still there

sometimes they go away/were just detecting knock/not logged

Remove bulbs from CEL in dash and carry on as you were.

Whats the opinion on if I hear a bang noise from the gearbox, then I see some metal bits on the road behind me and it wont select 3rd any more

Just ignore it and hopefully it will fix itself overnight?

I do and nz new have no speed cut

i have a o2 sensor that needs to be changed but i still wonder every time i see the light and hope it isn\'t anything else.

Boost until strange noises and shuddering occur. Then you definately know theres a problem.
