Whats happening in Wellington?

Hey guys, 

 

Seems like the Wellington region is a bit dead on here. New to Welly so would be keen to catch up with some locals members, especially to find out where the good roads are... I'm originally from the Coromandel and missing the roads up there.

 

Hopefully we can sort a meet or even just a couple of people that want to catch up sometime soon

I picked up a daily today from wellywood, there must've been something going on today as there was a v1/2 555 liveried GC8 around as well as many tough looking later model sti/wrx. (and mx5s, but we won't go there lol).

Hi, I'm a newbie in Wellington too. I'm keen to roll along if there's a meet happening. 

 

In my experience good roads are hard to find without going over the Remutakas. Korokoro is ok. Around Pauatahanui harbour is nice but busy. Some will rate Makara / Ohariu but I'm not a fan. It's narrow and poorly sighted and a favourite for cyclists. The roads that branch off Makara road can be good but they're often dead ends...

Not much has been happening in Wellington for a long time, but nothing stopping us sorting something.

Pick a date and a location and lets get something off ground.

Well location I probably shouldn't pick, since I just moved here... but in general I'm free thursday night or saturday morning/lunch.

I'm WELL out of the  area but Thurs nights "used" to be a meet @ the Esplande in Petone

 

just a suggestion could re-invent that (we're talking @Davebro days back in the early 2000's

 

could mix it up & do a Kapiti spot for Wedges & a beer once in a while too 

 

(just a suggestion & I'm poking my nose in)

 

gets some locals out & usually an excuse for a 'drive' or tiki tour "there" or back

 

also no reason you ant just say Central Welly or your usual Cafe out Miramar for a Burger (also fun trip around the bays etc :P)

I would be keen on a meet up Thursday nights would be cool open to anything so i can get the car out for a blat

I'd be keen to make an appearance! Wouldn't be in a Subie (yet) but would be good to meet some members of the club

I’m not really Wellington based anymore and have been trying to find a new Rep for the last three years or so. 
 

Please feel absolutely free to organise a meet. Anything you want from burger fuel, fish and chips at a park, or just standing around in a car park 

 

We had 30 people jammed into a McDonald’s once....anything at all

Haha yea, knew it was a long shot  My thursday's ended up getting filled with Russian lessons, so haven't been in a position to host any meets.

Yeah way to short notice, not many wellington people seem to use this... even i only check it periodically, I would of been interested in the drive though
