Did you just waterblast the engine? or did you use cleaner and a brush too?

Used degreaser as well (The cheap stuff you get in the big containers at Supercheap). Didn't need to scrub anything, it seemed to come off easy enough as it was.

All good, mine needs a good clean up, guessing you just covered the alt and battery before you sprayed

Yea just covered Alt, fuse box, Pod, and breather filter on mine. Didn't even think about the battery, I wasn't waterblasting the boot

Fixed a cv boot, found another dead one, swapped a front lower tca bush thingy, swapped tyres front to rear and cleaned all the glass inside and out.

smokin4 use the original turbo uppipe bracket engine bolts & have a piece of 8-10mm thick stainless or mild steel either flat or rod with a thick heavy washer welded onto the bolted end made to fit/welded to the uppipe, thats how i had planned on mounting it up, looks good man 8)

Last night we blew the head gasket - stupid split heater hose.

Thanks to the wonderful parts manager at my work he let me use their account with winger subaru up here in Auckland, I got brand spanking new Cambelt Kit, Waterpump, etc and a new metal head gasket so next weekend our mission is to pull the engine out and do the head gaskets

Everything seems to be ok.. It still drives and stuff..

When it over heated we straight away filled it back up with hot water to prevent the block from cracking, and then cooled the engine right down by it self. Its not blowing water out or oil in water/water in oil its just aerated bubbles in the header tank which is apparently a sign of a blown head gasket.

I introduced mr left side of block to mrs right side of block with crank/rods in-between. It all even rotates. Fingers crossed I did everything correctly. Next step, pistons. Maybe on sunday ;D
