Comprehensively fucked the motor in the Surf taking it in to the garage for a WoF check to see if it's worthwhile putting a new motor in it.

It died in the middle of the road outside the workshop. We had to push it in. Embarassing ;/

1UZ time :)

5VZ actually :) Much, much easier swap. Block is basically the same shape so mounts, bellhousing blah blah bolt up.

Yea but there are engine mount and bellhousing adapters available for the 1uz so they 'bolt up' aswell :P

Come on, you know you want to... :P;)

Mounts for 1uz will cost you about 350. The bellhousing adaptors about the same if not 300. Easy peasy. Unless its a diesel.

I've put some plans in place so that i can get some major projects done over the summer... Should be a nice long summer in the sun hopefully for me.

exhaust modification

oil cooler install

ECU to be rewired

STI intake manifold to be modified and installed

plenty of work to do, hopefully enough weekends of sun to complete

I did the same, blackened the plastics, washed and waxed the paint, leather conditioner for the seats, removed the wheels and took to them with some tyre shine and degreaser, detailer for the dash and door cards. vacuum for the carpet, degreaser for the struts and brakes, degreaser for the exhaust. :)

Ahh good few hours.

Braided some more hoses on the RS, swaped the factory ECU for the new Possum Link and mounted the hand controller on the ash tray.. just need to put battery in the boot and wire it up, bleed brakes then with a lil luck fire her up n see how she goes...

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
