What have you done to your car today?

finished up my spoiler and painted it today. only pic i got for today and was getting as bit dark and frosty thats why the spoiler doesnt look shiny.

Whats the spec?

All original, straight body, no rust, interior in....ok condition, black. Its all standard bar a muffler with at least 140k on the clock, she says that because the oddometer gave up at the end of last year. Check it out tomorrow and see what she thinks about my.......partners Legnum, she doesn't even know I'm swapping it yet, I'm sure she won't mind haha.

cursed it cos the mighty Bighorn has some issue!

Wouldnt turn over.....wont even think of it. All lights, headunit etc all working fine. I just wait till glow plugs warm enough then turn key.....one click is all!

Might be starter motor!

FOCK have to get it going for Mt Hutt next week lol

In my Honda there wasnt even screws to hold the headunit in. It was held in place by one of those cages like what the euro cars use. The ones where you slide a release lever down either side of the headunit to unclip it.

you got it haha, she hasn't driven it since i bought my commie and its been sitting down in the bush ever since so she might not even know its gone, until she sees an RS sitting in the drive way haha I'll deal with the consequences when they a rise.

Yup sounds like the starter motor relay/solenoid needs a wee recon

try tapping it with a hammer (or wot i find useful a piece of broomstick) and see if it starts then

hmmm gave that a go just before.

Could be the park sensor thingy needs cleaned. when it stops pissing down ill go put it in neutral and try to start then.

If that fails ill try a jump start from the Foz.

As you said im seriously expecting it to need a new starter motor. Been pretty wet here last few days so could be some moisture somewhere it shouldnt be!

tried tapping the starter motor again.

No joy.

Tried starting in neutral in case of dirty/faulty park sensor.

No joy.

Tried jumping from Forester.

No joy.

Appears to be starter motor. Might have to send it in tomorrow! Could buy a 2nd hand one and try to fit it myself but hmmm.......might be something else in which case prob better to be in a diesel specialist!

the beast lives!!!

pushed it onto road before with a herculean effort(its almost 2 tonnes!) and left it for a while and then it fired just before.

Took it for a run and stopped when got some heat into it. Started again for a few times no worries.

Wonder if it had some water in the wiring somewhere that needed a cold wind to get out lol.

or starter motor itself could be on blink.

Starter motor and starter motor. Get it changed, dont want the same thing to happen after a day on the mountain

Fixed the coolant leak. Adjusted the timing using the "twist it till it sounds right" method and went for a doort.

Holy s***! It goes! It does burnouts! Im happy. Now theres 2 black tire stains on my driveway. Also i think the neighbours hate me a little more than they did yesterday.

Anyone got a timing light?

get it repaired(or do it yourself they are pretty easy)
