can overboost cause a boost cut my boost gauge reads to 20psi and when it hits 20 it bounces on the gauage as if its tryna read more boost and car spits and cuts

i'd say you were hitting boost cut, yes. or sparkplugs getting blown out. car, mods etc?

V3/4 gtb converted vf23 yellow split fuel rail 6s ecu orange airfliwmeter samco sport black silicone intake. I put restrictor pill in between t piece and turbo nipple

20psi will kill it pretty quick (open deck block/no tune etc). if using a 0.8mm restrictor try a 1.0m? Make sure the boost solenoid isn't blocked or stuck closed too, or hoses on backwards?

In the conversion which sikdnoid is the one j need swap wires for the single turbo ecu to talk to?

ECV duty solenoid.

Just wondering if it's wired wrong and causing boost issue. Il try other solenoids. Also the ristrucyor pill does go in between turbo nipple and t piece?

Yip restrictor between turbo and T piece. On plug B137 swap pins 3&19 over.

WRX uses pin 3 for boost solenoid

Leg uses pin 19 for ECV solenoid

Boost cut imo. Try it with a vac line running from comp cover to actuator see if it still happens.

yeah it runs wastgate pressure all good no cut must be solenoid ive tried another one and having same issue il check my wiring in the daytime tomorrow

Can someone field some questions for me re turbo chargers

What's the go with exhaust housing interchangeability? E.g using a single scroll exhaust housing on a twin scroll turbo... What fits what and what is the difference between say a p18 and a p20? How does one identify an exhaust housing? And what are the common sizes about the larger sti turbos both old and new?

hey so my friend offered me some new semi slicks but the tyre size is 245 45 r17 and my tyre size at the moment is 215 35 r17.will these fit or is the size difference to much and will this cause any tyre wobble.cheers

245's are better suited for 8 inch wide rims. might just fit on 7.5.

215s are best fit for 7 inch wide rims. you may not have enough sidewall flex to squish the stupid wide tyres onto the 7inch rims, and it'll be a less than ideal ride.

get a set of 7.5 or 8 inch rims

cheers for that well im guessing my wheels are 7.5 inch because i dont think Advan rgs came out in 7" for 17" wheels.so the 215s must be stretched onto my 7.5" rims.so that mean 245s will be ok on 7.5" wheels?

stick with the 18g its bigger and spool 300rpm later. Vf22,23,24,28,29,34 and 36 can run the bb p18,20 or 25 t/s housings. Housings get bigger in that order. I imagine the vf30 and 37 housings are interchangable but no exp there. vf34 or 36 are the pick of the bunch. Basically theyre all -500cfm so stick with the 18g and make the most of moar boost with lower iat.

Might be tight for guard clearance.

sorry to sound silly but do you mean with the diameter or the profile will rub.the car use to have 215 35 r18 before i went 215 35 r17

2. I need to shorten muffler tips (i.e wagon to sedan) - any good place in Auckland who can do quality/tidy job that wouldn't cost me a kidney? (basically cut the tip off muffler body - shorten the tip - weld the tip back on, cannot just cut a piece off the tip as it's got some engravings on it, needs to be done from another end).

For question 1, GC8 no (unless it's a coupe) GDA (01 WRX) yes, that's what they come with standard.
