May as well knock out a few dumb questions in one go.

Is there any difference between V3 WRX/STi intake manifolds? I.e if I were to use either would I get the same amount of power if I went to ST on an EJ20R (with 6S, yellows, probably VF30)

Will V7 STi headers bolt directly up to an EJ20R? Or do I actually need V3/4 headers as well?

Thought I had more than that but just more things I need to consider before doing it the way I want it

Also another dumb question that likely doesn't really have an answer but what would/should I expect to get for 4x DTM convex black/machined face 19x8" with "minor-very minor" curbing? 3-4mm tread on all 4.

I think the only difference between the earlier WRX/STI manifolds is the paint, with different injectors on some (yellow/grey).

Compression ratio matching (engine/ECU) is the main thing to worry about for the swap. All the info should be in the single turbo conversion thread.

Version 7 headers are a perfect fit, no change to exhaust bolting patterns.

Does anyone know if td04 cores are interchangeable between the early model 90 degree inlets and the later model straight inlets? One would assume they would be eh?

So iv seen on youtube a few v3 wrxs with v8 Sti speedo clusters.can anyone point me in the right direction as to who can wire these up and custom fit them.from what iv seen it looks fairly tidy and a good fit,cheers

If I have single scrolls headers and turbo is changing to a twinscroll turbo as simple as changing headers?

Not thinking of doing it, just curious; but can an auto Legacy GT with a VF38 be made to equal the power of the manuals by swapping the turbo for the TD04? Would it be that simple?

Another option is upgrading your VF38 with VF34 internals, a lot of the guys in Aus take that path and seems to work well.

Are the auto's even that low on power? Vf38's were on manuals too. Sure its not just a matter of getting a tune?

It's the auto trans sucking most of the power difference isn't it?

I'd say so, it's only 20ps difference so combination of drivetrain and smaller turbo should do it.

The auto's will spool a tiny bit quicker due to the smaller turbo, but other than that the difference probably isn't too noticeable.

Nah it's the factory rated power @ flywheel

Regardless a single TD04 doesn't belong on anything larger than a starlet

^^ just detuned like most auto subaru's.

Can't you tune the newer auto trannys to be more aggressive and less sluggish, sure i've read someone saying they've done it to theirs somewhere.

One persons opinion of arse is not another. Never heard it in person Im more about no restriction than the noise made providing its not stickerable.

If it helps I've got cobra heavy duty lift springs in the back of my Surf, no complaints on quality or coating.

Thanks guys. Dacerx can get them for quite a bit cheaper compared to King Springs and I was wanting to see anyone had experience with them.

Can't tune them via ECU AFAIK. You can do valve mods to lessen the slush and give the auto a sportier feel, better shifts.
