Looks like I have been given misinformation about Avgas in my past. I had been led to believe it was good to use in certain modified applications. I do know of someone who was running it in their series 2 RX7, but not sure if running 100% or a blend. It was a reasonably modded RX.

Avgas - go nuts, can buy it privately quite often (ruapuna used to sell it on pump, petrol stations near jetboaters do often too)

Massive fine on the street as it's leaded fuel and it will much your 02 sensor

Binkz - I suppose you could say gull 98 / 10% ethanol is the pick? Or maybe E85 (I guess its on some pumps?) South island it's BP 98 or any old 95, try to choose busy stations if you can as at least its not going as stale, in theory

is it likely to be worthwhile running an octane booster once in awhile on my GTB? given they are rated to run at 100ron in Japan (if what i've read is true at least)

Possibly they have to 95ron at minimum so maybe slightly higher at different stations. I run caltex so car was tuned on caltex.

No, your ECUs learning cycle will use knock correction to retard the timing anyway, which is why GTBs don't blow up left right and centre.

If its a revision d, a reflash pulling some timing is your best bang for buck. Failing that, stick in the best non ethanol fuel you can. Older subie fuel lines dont like the ethanol, it eats them.

Octaine booster won't really help, as it'll have lower performance as it adjusts to the higher octaine, then it'll pull all the advances on the next tank of normal stuff.

Bit difficult to get a reflash when pretty much nobody South of CHCH knows what they are doing and that's a 6 hour + drive.

Is it hard to convert V7 Reflective headlights to STI HID Headlights? Do the ballasts and headlights just plug into the factory wiring or do you have to cut and solder the wires?

Conversion requires the hid headlights, balasts and a small wiring loom with relays with a direct battery feed, as the current drawn is too high for the standard lighting loom to safely hold.

Best way to get a rounded engine mount nut off passenger side is rounded thought about drilling both sides of but and trying to peel nut back with chisel not worried about damaging mount

Take whole xmember off, lift car from engine. Approach from different angle grinder

Be cheaper to fly gotasuby to you for the day. pay for his fare and a good tune and fly back than driving it up. Hes amazing

Go to mitre 10 - find a 'bolt extraction socket' and try that.

I would be interested to see how good they are. (never used one myself but was looking at them recently)

soooo i tried everything except the extraction socket as i couldnt buy single sockets from mitre 10 .. any other ideas

I can get them as singles. What size you need? I'll grab you one and courier it to you if you flick me $

Put a slight taper on the nut, with an angle grinder. Then hammer a 13mm socket onto it.
