Dumb Question Thread!

I\'m prob wrong

But there\'s a bolt just tucked behind the front wheel, about 6 inches in? I use a trolley jack on that bolt, it\'s pretty solid part of the structure and the only point a trolley jack fits in on some cars anyway hahah - it\'s one of the bolts for the control arm rear bush/mount thing.

Quite likely not the right point but meh

Works for me or tow hook at the front, often dont use axle stands as bitch to work around when doing stuff up front. For the rear I use the diff. I have special 4x2 ramps i drive on too so i can get the bliddy jack under.

I try not to, just cause half the time you end up folding the metal back which apart from looking heinous I\'ve heard can be a WOF issue? The factory jack thing has a cutout in it to avoid doing exactly that

I normally pick the most structural parts I can - like suspension mounting points tend to be the best bet - and subframe etc for axle stands

To be fair you can\'t really get it too far wrong

I\'d rather be safe than sorry. Is there a jacking point under the engine/front of the car that I can place a trolley jack to lift both front wheels at the same time? I thought there would be a jacking plate of some sort? If there is can someone advise me where exactly. Thanks.

My trolley jack doesnt lift high enough to get both wheels off the ground if i use that point (was ok with coilovers but stock shocks have too much travel)

that and it doesnt fit haha

but yes that plate with the bit of blue pen on it

In a wrx (or possibly any sub:

1:How much hp/kw atw does it take to do a 100kms/hr in 4sec (or to crack less than 5sec)

2:how much power to crack 11s in a quarter 1/4 mile

Any proof or formula to back your claim cheers

Depends if you have launch control or not, how much the car weighs, all sorts.

There was a Legacy RS that broke into the 10\'s while still running a VF22 (meaning maybe 250kw maximum) but it was completely stripped...

sub 5 sec easy if you get savage on it, 180atw would be enough - for an estimate my old vr4 which ran mid 12s clocked sub 4 0-100s

11s ballpark 250atw, depends on car, setup & driver

have seen 400kw not make it with muppet drivers

answer is: how long is a piece of string

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
