N/A vs Turbo'd Exhaust sounds

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I own a N/A 2007 Subaru legacy sedan, with an EJ20

I am wondering if a N/A EJ20 engine can sound the same as a turbo'd EJ20?

For example if i installed a full exhaust kit (INVIDIA) or along those lines if I could achieve the same sound?

Thanks a bunch :)

Put a turbo and turbo extractors on it but don't plumb anything up turbo wise except the exhaust and oil/coolant lines. Run the N/A as per normal just reroute intake pipe.

Boom!

Do it be Brave

It'll over speed the turbo... you'd need to put a reducer on the turbo output to provide some resistance... or do you mean plumb the output of the turbo into the throttle without an intercooler? Would work with E85.

I mean running an NA setup but bolting on a non functional turbo system that outputs to atmosphere just for a laugh , hell maybe you could rig up a bov or a wastegate to the setup for ultimate laughs

NA usually equal length headers and Turbo ones unequal length but even that is only part of it, not having a turbo also chances it a bit. Here is my old NA Impreza. I can hear a tiny bit of boxer (I think) lol.

Actually I must record my current car exhaust just for the lolz.
