sti OEM part, from wingers. engagement is a little heavier than before, but i put that down to how hot the old pressure plate got LOL

there were blue spots on it.... i really should take pics of it.

Sweet, thinking I might go genuine too but haven\'t got prices yet haha.

Yes pics of pressure plate!

I think I have a pressure plate somewhere around here from my pulsar that had heat spots from 4 days driving after the engine conversion.

And a clutch disc in two pieces from the same clutch lol must dig them out for a laugh :D

Missus blew my libi clutch doin circles. Completely nuked one side of a h/d daikin to be fair it was on its way out. The lining was completely missing one side and half gone on the other. Bellhousing looked like a candy floss factory.

Genuine are cheap compared to exedy h/d and theyre uprated 20-30% same as exedy. Just dont buy the release bearing gen theyre massive money like over $100 aftermarket $40-60.

Copy of invoice in my garage thread but I think 360ish so 400 incl bearing.

drove it with the full rev range this morning!! ;D ;D dccd open and it broke traction in 4th..

hold on!!!!

i can also confirm anyone doing motorsport what a difference ducting the oil cooler makes, following Tonys design i now have results on how good it really is.

Stable oil temps are VERY important for any track going subaru.

My saga of installing a tablet in the 250T continues. After finding out that my original clean wiring was almost perfect _after_ feverishly splicing cables to track down noise coming through the ground, I started removing all the old cabling from the aftermarket TV set. 5 hours later, I have a truly ridiculous mass of wires which have come out which were threaded all over the damn car. It was a damn joke.

Noise is/was coming through the USB charging cable and through the audio output of the tablet - even when using the stock cigarette lighter socket rather than my wired-up secondary..

Putting all shrouds, trim and carpet back this lunch and wrapping the USB charging cable through a ferrite core. Hopefully the noise won\'t be there, or else I guess I\'m going over the ground wires in the engine bay which probably need to be done anyway. So tempting to do a hack-job with a ground loop isolator, but I want to do it cleanly...

You\'ll have a shitty ground in there, I virtually guarantee it. What sort of noise is it? Does it go up and down with revs?

Probably best off getting a transformer-based ground-loop isolator from Jaycar or something like Stinger if you want to pay for the bling.

Totally, that\'s what I presume too. Higher-pitched noise that occurs that starts while on / pre-ignition. That\'s what led me to believe the aftermarket TV installation "birds nest" was the culprit, rather than potentially the alternator (am I wrong about this?). Noise does increase with revs however, so I might be chasing two sources for all I know.

I\'ll go the ground loop isolator if I need to. I\'d prefer to do this cleanly and properly and possibly negate the bit of sound quality loss through using an isolator.

While I was doing a bit of reading on this before I started attacking the car, some people have pointing out that ferrite cores (usually come with TVs and the like) have sometimes been shown to reduce noise to a similar level of a ground-loop isolator. Could be BS, but they presumably exist for a reason..

Edit: Bleh.. it ended up being the secondary cig lighter socket I wired up. Serves me right for using something that was pretty poor quality. This project has made me feel like an idiot every step of the way. At least I\'ve learnt a lot..

Pulled the rear hubs to get the bearings changed after putting up with the noise for long enough >:( I also kept having visions of them failing and my wheels burying themselves into wheel well in truly spectacular fashion.

While at it I inspected the rotors for wear and all the pads as well.

The drivers side made a terrible sound \'free-wheeling\' after I removed it, bearings are well past there best days. No play though, just felt like there may be some pitting on the races, possibly from the seals perishing and allowing all sorts of nasty\'s inside :o

The passengers side had a small amount of play, and a bit of noise when \'free-wheeling\'.

Looking forward to noise free motoring once again ;D

OS is all about Rare/fun/Quirky : what you cant see is the Datsun 240K or 1200 2door sedan/120Y/Crown Wagon\'s/Stargazer Celica and so on :P

That pic is taken by a guy with a 260C standing on the boot of my MkVI Escort

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
