What have you done to your car today?

I replaced the top hose with oem one and new cap.

Would I be best to take it to someone how to get it checked for a head gasket issue? I\'m not mechanically minded enough to do this - I\'ll be honest.

Stumped on what i should do with my car now that the mrs said i can do what i want with it now that its no longer our main vehicle.

its actually been going the best it has in the last 6months than the last 5 years before hand so i\'m happy to just drive it but want to put the lowered springs back in and maybe go to a 15\' sub instead of the 12" i have but i\'m actually thinking i just need to upgrade my amp after reading some posts.

what amp and sub do you have?

Essentially all the sub needs to do is handle the power and excur linearly with the signal given.

Box design is most important..

Yes, sealed, tight and punchy. But more importantly, output is relatively linear across the sub bass frequencies.

For ported, there is a spike at the tuning frequency.. and anything around that frequency, it gets a bit sloppy..

I have heard very controlled bass from a ported box before, as long as the cutoff is set properly to minimise uncontrolled cone movement..

It\'s about matching the sub to the box and to the desired sound. A ported box can be built to be punchy and/or to play flat, it\'s important to look at the frequency response and thielle small parameters of the driver and create a box that caters to it. For example most DD (Digital Designs) subs, which I prefer for car audio, have very stiff suspension to help them handle high power, but this also means you can tune the box high and they will be punchy without flopping around at low frequncies.

Nice choice marc

Thanks Andrew lol, though about it for a while. What sounds good, wont dissapoint too much after being used to solid bass and is pretty compact. Was going to go Alpine Type X 10" / PDX 1.600 combo but just abit much $ for now haha and always liked the DD stuff + Alpines MRX mono stuff is pretty good too, been using a 4 channel one for my components.

Will tradme some of my leftovers :\'(

So what\'s the best way to secure a sub box in the boot so I don\'t have to worry about it next time I go around a corner. Just upgraded all the door speakers and will probably look to put the sub back. Had some salesman spend 30 minutes blabbing about 5.25 inch being all that will fit in the doors although I had just measured up everything, then another 20 minutes trying to sell me some top of the line components. Dude I came in already knowing what I wanted and instead of just getting them and having an easy sale you forced me to leave and go elsewhere.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
