Psh. I'm removing a TD04 and replacing with a VF8. A VF29 is probably what I'd end up with at final build ;D

If I can ever get the fugger out. >:(

I like vf8's nice wee turbos on a relatively stock setup, way more oomph than a td04 anyhow!

That's why I grabbed it when I saw it. Not a power chaser by any means, but less hopeless than a wee dinky TD04 and will go nicely with the early WRX motor in there. There's a manual gearbox and 6S ECU conv coming, we'll see if the little VF8 can handle things then. :) Really, really looking forward to being able to drive the bastard.

water plasted my WRX seats..

Used sugar soap, baby shampoo, stiff brush, 1850 PSI water blaster. Used proper upholstery cleaner & elbo grease for the dirtier bits. Before i started i spray CRC on the runners etc to repell any water to prevent rust.

Smelling good! :D 8)

In the top pic the seat on the left hasnt been done..

Both seats cleaned

Leave to dry in the garage, will bring out on sunny days..

im coming to your pl gaz, and you can clean my whole car!!!

looking bloody good there bruv

haha, not likely ;D :P.

However i do recommend cleaning up the carpets and seats etc using the water blasting method, apart from the hole in the dash where the last owner must have had a monsta tacho and a raft of ghey over sized gauges, the BG is now as fresh as daisys and prolly as close to its former glory as you could get... as for the outside ::)

Yikes.. 26 degrees at 6:30am, hot as fuk nor-wester, GREAT day for drying seats :D

Today I received my 1mm longer rods from the states.

Ordered/paid Friday and they arrive Tues. Quite happy with that!

About $900 by the time they got through customs. Only other easy option (i.e. non-custom made in the odd size I wanted) was Pauter which are about $1100 before paying freight and customs duties. Plus the Pauter's about 100g heavier than normal forged H-beam rods and I'm not aiming for 1000hp.

Chucked my fuel tank baffle in today, made by Koom.

Took me about 30-40 mins, a little bit of patience was required to squeeze it through into the tank, at first glance I thought it was never going to fit!

First pic just shows the layout with the cover off, I really like the idea of all the return fuel going into the baffle.

Question Koom: does it have any affect on fuel mixture due to increased back pressure in the return line?

Second pic you can see the mounting rivets which is the only part of installation that's not dead easy.

P2020109.jpg

And here it is with the cover on, in all it's glory. The big issue I was having was due to the p!ssy little, incorrectly angled pump filter that came with my Walbro pump. You can see from the picture that it sits a whole lot higher than the factory item and I was surging in moderate right hand turns with 2/3rds of a tank of gas!! Note to anyone getting a Walbro 255lt/hr pump: use the factory filter and not the supplied one, regardless that it voids the warranty on the pump. New pump is cheaper than new engine/turbo.

Cheers!

Nice. Much better looking installation pics than I have ever taken! (Usually in a rush in a dimly lit corner of the workshop and pics taken on my phone :-[ )

While the return is feeding the small "box," it is still an open container so there's not going to be localised spot of high pressure messing with fuel pressures in the rails (IMO).

Yeah, I was thinking about it in terms of the increase in the length of return line (albeit 6 inches) causing a rise in pressure. On second thoughts though, it must be quite minimal given the overall length. It's certainly idling nicely, which is where you'd expect issues to show I would think.

Just need to burn some more gas before I can test it out!

I is feeling retarded over the ffiing boost tap. Have listed the car on tm, thinking of trying something newer v8 or v9 for the four doors and softer ride for the kids. May even be able to get one to tow my boat on occasion.

I may be up that way in a couple of weeks or so, ill see. Its only running just over 10pound of boost at the moment, and is pretty quick so another 6 pound or so will be big giggles.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
