Got engine out, YUSS!!!

Got head off,(was some water in there (probably condensation from the open inlet.)

Checked the other head for water, was none; went to tighten it back up, and snapped off a rocker cover bolt in there - yay D,: -

Yeah, drill + Easy-outs, but I have another head as well( we were swapping the heads because they were already set up for ST on the BH), so it's fine. I overtightened the bolt; and then it kinda just snapped...

you shouldn't try to feel the give on a flanged bolt, I learnt that bolting my fuel pump back in

I've got a torque wrench should you need one what's your zero?

Yeah After breaking a few bolts I have started using a torque wrench on every bolt,I have a generic torque table so it gives me a good idea as to how tight they should go.

I also had to spend some money on torque wrenches now have 4 so i can go from 10nm thru to 450nm and from 1/4" to 3/4" drive ( probably about $1000 worth of torque wrenches)

I broke one rocker cover bolt on my RS when i did the headgaskets.

And that was using a torque wrench.

Thank christ it was not nipped in the bottom of the threads..

Used the old trick of drilling two small holes in the end of the bolt and used small screwdriver to remove..

I said to dad maybe he should do the tightening from now on haha (especially with annoying finnicky little things-He has the wisdom of having broken it all before, so he knows their limits lol) but drill and Easy outs usually get them out hassle free.

changed the plugs in the sti well showed the mrs how to she was keen to do it. so she was able to do it easily. and this is a girl that says i like that blue car!!!!

Picked up the RS from epically failing its first WOF in three years ;D

Now to make a start on the to do list.....

upgraded the 4l engine mounted meth injection tank to a 12l boot mounted tank, ordered the twinscroll sump,pickup etc will be here by the weekend, sorted a date for the power tune hoping the 2.25 breaks the 300kw mark easier than old 2.0

Ordered new mirror to replace the one kicked off by drunk people a week or so ago.

Tried to decide whether tiny dent in bonnet from same people is worth getting fixed.

Found that one of the shocks in the rear of the foz is actually from a different vehicle and needs replacing anyway...
