Yeah must admit, when I got it I had to fill it right up with oil. So had a hard life, and had given it alot of motorway driving with only 4 gears it would set in the high revs alot...Year later it went bye bye when I hit rush hour traffic, fortunately I got it off the highway just in time. Had to take the emergency lane quickly, otherwise I would be the reson for a traffic jam haha

Pickapart mission; wagon = much nicer experience.

Went in to get a power steering pump and an air flow meter, came out with a powersteering pump, a pair of shocks and springs, a fujitsubo muffler (EPIC SCORE OF WIN) and a pair of seats from a BG5B to upgrade my BG5A ones - these ones actually count as buckets.

No AFM. FFFUUU.

Last time I'm bloody well dragging all that heavy shit from one side of the yard to the other though, I need to hire helpers.

yea diluted sugar soap in hot water, and apply baby shampoo after the first good scrub and rinse, used a real stiff brush, then hosed off, normally like to use a water blaster to hose off but mine is broke

Today i actually got around to doing some work on my car. Started removing all the sound deading with a hammer and chisel

slow and long work. I might actually finish it off in 2 weeks time lol

same, managed to find more than an hour to work on it this weekend....

made up custom brackets for my catch can and boost solenoid, installed top tank and cut all my top tank hoses to size and clamped on my new radiator hoses.

Tried to close the bonnet and relised the ICV hits the bonnet frame, 11mm phoenolic spacers with a V8 sti manifold in a GC8 doesn't quite fit it turns out.

Need to trim some of the frame out of the way.

Just need 1 fitting and a short piece of fuel hose and my fuel system is complete, the just need one hose for crank case breather to catch can and thats out of the way.

So just need to get air temp sensor bung welded on and bolt the intercooler pipework together and ready for the auto sparky

Put in new battery so now she fires up first turn, and started removing random little stickers off the leggy.

changed all my water hoses over to Flextech silicone hoses great product

also added new coolant - changed exhaust manifold out for a mint one - changed oil and filter and some magic to stop the lifter noise new plugs and fuel filter and set the timing and now its like a new car

then washed it

Got the steering column hooked up again, steering wheel back on, got the vf26 out (man is it a baby turbo compared to the td05h) put the drivers side headlight back in. ;D

hell yeah ! MBL8 deserves some sort of award or something - tried a few different types of additives and different oil and different weights - waste of money ! MBL8 made the lifters 100% silent in a matter of 2 minutes

Haha yeah it was a bit of a mission to count.. and had to do it twice cos mis counted the first time... and of course I made him wait through it all as well.. his own fault!
