in my own opinion, the best option is to join the lines if you remove the canister.

mind that those joiners are actually 1-way valves, you want to keep the big one, preventing boost from pressurising the fuel tank

workmate bought a car and he said he wasn't running right i said to check for fault codes by plugging up the green and black plugs and check for codes now the plugs were already connected and the check engine light bulb as been removed.

So my question is would this of done any damage to the car?

but whoever owned it, knew it wasn't right and tried to hide the fact to sell the car

yes, from what i have seen they are the auto "GT" varieties

What does it mean if your exhaust looks wet at the bottom?

i.e from the headers back, the very bottom of all the piping looks wet (and is oily)?

a byproduct of the combustion process is water, the moisture in the exhaust gass tends to settle in the pipes

unless you have coolant in your exhaust theres little to worry about

If its just water it'll disappear once you're up to temp and just evaporate away. You probably won't get it it hot enough to burn off any oil vapour/residue that may be present inside the exhaust. That could be caused by alsorts of things. Does it smoke when you're driving it? Have to top up the oil regularly?

Also, are you talking about inside the exhaust or outside? Cause outside is just all the seals on the engine leaking.

On the outside when I lie down and look under it.

Fresh oil flush and change 1000k's ago.

No smoke when driving.

Might have to go seal replacement crazy on it, if I had the money I would love to have the whole engine stripped down, cleaned and reassembled.

oh have a look where it seems like it comes from, wether its 1 side?, 1 part of cam covers etc

Seems to start from very start of headers and work its way all the way back to exhaust. Crank cover might be leaking or something if that causes it.

Our 2001 Blitzen sedan is doing the same thing i thnk? Used to be a strong smell fron engine bay only after extended uphill driving but now does it after almost every drive. Keeping an eye on the oil level and all seems well but I'm guessing its such a tiny leak its barely noticeable? Mechanical warranty with only $150 excess so really should get it seen to sooner than later.

whats the pressure bar rating for the subaru toptanks my labels come over due to getting wet?

2nd question if mines a 0.9 bar and a put a 1.3bar on will this cause water issues sue to extra pressure?

.9 is OEM 1.3 may find the rest of the weak spots

1.3 has been fine on my GTB for the last few years : only split end tank on rad which was due to happen I reckon

2: Driving along and gearbox makes a slight noise (like when your kitchen tap ain't on fast enough) in every gear but third. Have I mofo'd my gearbox?

Yeap radiator fans. I dont think mine are going either but are connected and making a real loud noise
