BRZ owner.... is this the right place??

Hi All,

New to the forums and returning to the world of Subaru, i have just got myself a BRZ

As everyone knows performance is disappointing, ive been looking at what i should start with to help fix that.... NZ is very limited for parts, whats some recommendations for getting parts to NZ without crazy shipping prices??

yes the forum is stuck in 1998 & we need a new section for these new cars! (and a international section)

we had at least 1x BRZ at the recent National Mega meet that was Flatnats '15

Unfortunately the way the forum is set you'll need to link them. Upload to the likes of photobucket or similar and link image.

Re: mods... I believe speedsource does a mental supercharger kit, there are huge gains to be had from a retune, but I dont know anyone who does opensource tunes in nz on these yet. Might have to resort to e-tuner. There a few good ones out there

There's all manner of places who will sell you the bits you want/need

There's a few places who reflash them too

Shipping doesn't need to cost heaps? A turbo and some bits doesn't weigh all that much

Try nzperformance, tell him marky sent you

Could also try AVO Australia, they do a turbo kit and a few other bits.

Was looking at some of their stuff for mine the other day and they sent me an email half an hour later saying they can do free shipping to NZ when its over a certain amount.

STM were playing with a BRZ for a while, last I saw it was getting some sort of forced induction but then I havent heard much since.

That project might have been dropped when Andre left. They just did suspension mods for a long time... it was very slow though.

If you blinked you would lap it at a track day.

Thanks for the tip, first thing im looking at will be an exhaust, from the header back and a tune. I been reading online and i will hold off on the turbo or supercharger till i have racked up a few more KMs. I can only find one bolt on off the shelf header in NZ http://www.redlineperformance.co.nz/products/exhaust/exhaust-manifolds/toyota/xforce-exhaust-manifold-header-t86-brz/ it doesn't seem anywhere as good as ones i can find overseas..... such as Borla or Nameless.

Anyways ill keep looking as i want to get these out of the way before the holidays

You could always look around at GT86 mods as well, seeing as they are the same car.

I believe there's an NZ GT86 club, perhaps check them out?

Welcome!! I was tossing up a BRZ after selling my v7 but went the with 2012 wrx instead. The BRZ's a good looking car especially your one, just a little too small for me .. I see you're in Auckland, you should try rock up to our last bastion point meet of the year this sunday

Yup shot past it a few times. Looked like it handled ok though.

They made about 10 wheel alignment adjustments that day so I hope it was handling well by the end at least.

Andre chucked it around Manfield in 1:19.7, I wouldn't call that slow.
